They had the best crawfish bisque IN THE WORLD.

Just wondering.

I was a mere child back then, but I remember the bisque for some reason.

Both of my parents grew up in Lake Arthur (my mom in Klondike actually) and they met there. It has been a while since I have heard that name though.

When I was a small kid in Abbeville, several groups of parents and their kids would go there on Saturday nights. Food was legit. Short grain rice for the bisque like the old days

It was a bar about 10 years ago, maybe a bingo hall at one point too.

Used to go there. Don't know if it opened as something else.

Do you remember the Town and Country Club in Riceville?

Have you been to the new place? I was just looking through the site and it looks cool. I saw a few of my aunts and uncles in the pics.

It did have a reputation for good food, but I don't ever remember ordering anything other than fried shrimp was good though.

Everything fried was good too. They had a fried soft shell crab plate too. Even the hushpuppies were good!

Memories of food are great things to have burned into your brain. Many decades after last being in the place I can still remember walking into Chesters and feasting on fried frog legs and chicken, cooking meals for family friends of the family with a recipe only used once, the same thing with personal friends over a meal of Persian food which got rave reviews from all of them. Those recipes are seared into my head.

I liked it, it's nice to have a place accessible by boat on the lake to grab a bite and a few beers.

Are you old enough to remember the slot machines and gambling in the back? I was only a small kid, but I remember the slot machines.
