There is also a newer one that lets you choose how strong you want your coffee.

First of all, your thread title is fricking stupid.
Secondly, this has for a while been a contentious subject on this board. With the vehement Keurig champions coming to defense of their brilliant new toy every time a thread popped up. But judging from some of the comments in this thread it seems the Keurig gimmick is becoming exposed for what it is .. a complete waste of money.

Thanks for speaking for the rest of us.
I have a Keurig. Have had it for about 4 years.
I use it every weekday morning. I buy Double Black Diamond and Black Tiger. Both are dark roast full bodied and plenty strong.
I have one at work as well and since I can't use a press at the office, it is the second best thing I have found. Also great for clients.
On the weekend I use the coffee press. It is a better cup of coffee. During the week I don't have the time to really enjoy the process and relaxing mode that using the press is all about.

I'd rather stop by a CCs, or a McDonald's or even a gas station for a cup of coffee on my way to wherever I'm in such an incredible rush to get.
Or I could just wake up earlier and make a fresh pot of drip coffee. Or .. they make these coffee makers with timers on them you can set the night before. New technology I'm told.
Anything besides wasting my money on a lazy convenience that doesn't even put out a very quality product.

Yes, we get it. Other people have opinions too. Gas station coffee? Please. CCs I can understand. 4 times as expensive as a K-Cup

If you think that drinking coffee from a coffee press is about the time it takes, you obviously don't get it.

I want an espresso machine plumbed into my kitchen. I need one.

wtf are you even trying to say?
Keurig sucks bro. The flavor and the value. Sorry for pointing out the ugly truth about how you're wasting your money.

You send me a link with an interesting but not really relevant article and you ask this?

Sorry. You are wrong. But keep drinking that drip and gas station coffee if you like it.

wasting your money
I hardly think $60 for a machine and 50 cents a cup is wasting. But believe what you want. I was drinking coffee long before you were. I know what I like. I know what is good.
You actually think having water sitting in a drip machine overnight can brew a good cup. C'mon.
What is most amazing is that you actually believe your opinions are facts.

Percolated coffee in a cheap percolator.

I'm too lazy to set up the pot the night before, but water turns to shite overnight?
I use a cheap-arse coffee maker with the gold metal filter and espresso roasted beans. I little less bitey than the French roast. IDK seems to work.
I'm trying to talk myself into the expensive espresso rig, but when I calculate how many double shots it is at the coffee shop it makes me just want to use theirs.

No, but it does go "flat" and can affect the taste.
I'm not so much saying it is horrible to pre-set your coffee the night before as I am commenting on R2R's opinions. If he is that much of an aficionado, he's not using "sitting" water.
Like I said, I prefer the press. I like it on the weekends. Take my time. Move slow. Sit and read and sip or converse.
The Keurig is quick and good enough for me the rest of the time. It's not a waste of money.

seems like a few folks have their pantys in a wad about their coffee pots?
one time at the camp our pot broke and i made a pan full using a pair of semi-dirty tube socks (with the double red stripe at the top)... best I've ever had.. cathead biscuits and tube sock coffee, hard to beat..

I don't give a damn what kinda coffee maker I'm using as long as it works.

If your municipal water uses chlorine, letting it sit overnight could be a good thing, imo.
