I remember when Blanton's was dusty as shite on the Winn Dixie Burbank shelf at 47.99 each. Never moved unless I bought a bottle. Around that time, I was introduced to Black Maple Hill at 54.99 a bottle. I should have stocked up on BMH because its now selling for 600 on the secondary and tastes waaaay better than Pappy and Blantons.

It’s a “store pick”. The merchandiser selected the barrel, distiller bottles as usual and slaps a gold sticker (Blantons picks) on the side andnit commands more money on the secondary market. Picks can have different %/proof, be pulled from different barrels, etc.. SP from specific locations with reputations of having good picks sell faster and at higher price.

Nah... they have to stick to the brand “profile”. You can’t get a barrel proof Blantons or Eagle Rare, etc
