I’ll be making my way over there in a couple of weeks and spending about 4 weeks

Anything new and good?

Or should I hit the Lebanese and Thai food?

TLJ killed my enjoyment of food. Now I drink green milk and eat small birds with big eyes

How new are you looking for?

I've heard great things about Rocca Pizza and Kalurah Street Grill (which replaced my favorite restaurant Chelsea's). I really dig Elsie's Plate & Pies, the White Star Market, City Pork, Lit Pizza, Jolie Pearl, and Southfin Southern Poke.

However, one can never go wrong with the tried and true Baton Rouge staples:
Stockyard Cafe
Belue's
River Queen Drive-Inn
Couyan's
The Chimes
Thai Pepper
La Morenita
Doe's
Dang's
Louie's
South of Philly
Dempsey's
Roberto's
Louisiana Lagniappe
Sushi Masa

I agree with all of those except Bellue's. Nothing there has ever impressed me. I find Dempsey's to be just OK.

Their boudin’s not great, but that turducken po’boy is the truth. Their sides are really awesome as well.

Are we like best friends now?

Seriously, we have very similar tastes/interests. Granted, those are great places to eat and everyone should like something there.

A couple you missed:

Omi
India's Restaurant
Fleur De Lis

Try their habanero chicken tenders and get your favorite sides. The chicken is not overly spicy but it's delicious.

I like Fleur de lis but it doesn’t like me back. It makes me sick every time I eat it (same with Louie’s hasbrowns).

I haven’t been by Omi in years, I’m definitely due.

India’s never impressed me.

Not sure if you have an extremely refined indian food palate and therefore are justified in your response. Or maybe you just like indian food...

But do me a favor: next time you go there...try some of the following on the menu. Hard to beat:

- chicken 65: spicy but good appetizer
- chicken tikka masala: mild spicyness but more savory and rich
- chicken vindaloo: spicy but solid flavor
- chicken garlic and chili noodles: spicy and awesome.
