Not sure about his beef skills, but he is a master with pork. You don't have to like someone to respect their ability, but winning trophys during "blind box" competitions is legit...

He definitely has a grating personality. But there's no doubt the man knows BBQ. Fortunately he's pretty funny, which helps balance out the cockiness.
