El Tapatio, for Mexican food. It's behind the Taco Bell across from the mall.

Charlie's, in Springfield. Get the 16 oz ribeye. It's cooked like you order it, and I've never been able to finish one yet. Also, seafood is very good. May be a wait though.

There is considerable discussion on this board about steaks NOT being cooked as they were ordered. I'm saying that Charlie's does it right. You get it like you order it. Period.

Buddy's Bar & Grill on S. Morrison Blvd
The crawfish bread appetizer was awesome and the steak was really good.
Pretty nice decor for a Hammond hole in the wall.

I've been for the daily plate lunches.

Good stuff. I recommend the chicken fried steak for sure.
