My wife and I went fishing in Alaska a month and a half ago and we brought back quite a bit of halibut, salmon, rock fish and lingcod.

She's thawed it out for supper tonight, but she's never made halibut before. Anyone got anything that they have tried before and would recommend?

Thank you.

I think that's what she's planning to do unless something else comes up.

Good to know it will work well. Thanks.

Watch the temp. Halibut is a beautiful thing at 120-130 degrees internal.

If you can find blood oranges now (or their juice), this has been a go to recipe for me for a long time: Emeril's filet of halibut with roasted fingerling potatoes:

google search heavenly halibut on google.

Parmesan cheese, mayo, lemon, hot sauce, green onions (I add sour cream as well).

Slather that on the halibut, then broil in oven until finished.

Serve over rice.

I use it in Fish Tagine. Even just using the Chermoula sauce on oven roasted halibut is amazing.

I also use it to make grilled fish tacos, which I may make tonight,

I have been travelling back and forth to AK since 2018 and regularly bring home Halibut. If you have the thick filets, squeeze some lemon on them, season w some garlic/onion powder, smoked paprika and old bay. Toss some parm cheese & bread crumbs on top and bake at 400 for about 20 minutes then turn on the broil for couple at the end to really brown the cheese & bread crumbs.

Also, did you get any of the cheeks? Those are my favorite. Same recipe but little shorter on the cook time if you did.

I do something like this, but I add diced yellow onions to the mixture, and add a little paprika for color on top. Green onions as a garnish.
