My favorite burger were Sundown, but Grown and Grazed has passed them imo, and Dawg House probably too. We noticed Sundown hasn't been quite as good this summer, but thought it was due to Eric passing away in the Spring(manager)

I will concede that I haven’t lived in Ruston for about 15 years but as far as I am concerned, anytime my family goes to Ruston, we eat at the Dawghouse. It is not fine dining by any stretch but it is solid food with a solid atmosphere. There are a couple of standout meals there. Their burgers are great but I always went for the philly cheese steak on jalapeño cheese bread. It is not a traditional philly. It is chunk beef (probably sirloin) with tons of cheese and onions. Get it and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

There are some other solid suggestions in this thread but as a Tech grad I am telling you that the Dawghouse is where it is at.

Brister’s - the pulled rib sandwich is excellent

Scatterload sandwich is good

Rib plate is quality

Smoked potatoes are good - I don’t like the other sides - sides come in a pre measured cup and it is not enough

The BBQ nachos are surprisingly good.

Utility is pretty legit for what/where it is..The back courtyard area is pretty laid back and there are several places inside to eat..The newer rotolos place is there now too, but Utility really needs the local support as Ruston is growing and times are surely changing

Utility has cleaner pizza. Roma has very good pizza with it being customized using their pink sauce instead of marinara, so good...
Monjunis has been gone and replaced by Champs, a good breakfast spot with amazing pancakes

i graduated from Tech but that was a very long time ago sounds like lots of stuff opened since the 70's. Back then the only pizza was Johnny's and only burgers was Grifs
There was a lil hole in the wall taco stand that sold tacos 10 cents a piece
