Went there for lunch today with some coworkers. First impression when I pulled up was, "man, they sure are saving a ton on rent."

Split a muff and it was as good as any I've had. Nice and pressed with to a of meat, cheese and salad.

A coworker got the meatball poboy and thought it was great.
Side note, no pork in the meatballs. Maybe that's typical, I just thought most were pork.

I also got a pound of prosciutto stuffed olives, they are damn good. But at $12.00/lb, they aren't cheap.

The highlight if the meal was the pepper shooters, they were out of this world! Some sort of little pepper (looked like a mini bell pepper) stuffed to the gills with prosciutto and cheese marinated in a spicy EVOO. Seriously, they were amazing. I would go back just to have a few of these. I would recommend them to anyone.

Overall a cool place. Small and cramped and it was pretty warm in there. But the people were super nice and the food was really good. I will eat there again.

On Florida blvd. across from the old blue cross building. Not the nicest part of town.

Que? My grandmother was sicilian and she always did 1/3 each of meat, pork and veal. Ive never heard of a pork meatball, if anything they would be all beef.

Anthonys is outstanding. Not a bad sandwich on the menu.

It isn't much to look at, but that is far from a dangerous part of town.

I didn't mean dangerous, just an overall shitty part of town.

I had no clue, I figured they would all have pork. Not saying they should, it was just a surprise to me.

I was very happy with it. It's a full little Italian deli. They have sliced meat and cheese, frozen prepared entrees and all the other things you would expect... Anchovies, capers, EVOO, pastas, olives...

And what is meat? Is that just any cut of beef you have around?

been going there for over a decade. It's the best Italian food in BR, if not the state. You can also get family-sized lasagna made. The tiramisu is pretty good as well.

The Meatball po boy is the best sandwich in BR.

It was a good muffaletta and I loved the bread, but I'm not sure it was the best I've ever had.

Wow, I can't believe more people here haven't heard of this place. I grew up in Broadmoor and this place has been great for as long as I can remember. I have never had a bad meal there, ever.

I'm nota big muffaletta fan in general, I go for the meatball. It's really the polarizing argument among AID fans.

I know Bite n Booze named the meatball the best sandwich in BR, but some swear by the muff.

Whoa there. Not so fast my friend. Their Italian Lover is pretty serious as well.

By far Anthony's is in my top 3 places to eat lunch in the city, and I'm glad it's stayed small and a secret all these years. I got turned on to this place back in the 90s and haven't looked back. But.shhhhhhhhhhhhh. I like it just the way it is.
