Why do people in Baton Rouge confuse Greek and Arabic food?

It's not just Baton Rouge. It's the same way in Lafayette. I have a feeling it's the same anywhere that doesn't have a significant Greek population. It's not like the average American has traveled through either region. Very few restaurants claim to be either Greek or Lebanese; almost all claim to be both. The average person is going to interpret that to mean that the two are roughly equivalent. At the end of the day, when was the last time you saw someone claiming to be a "Russian and Mexican" restaurant

They actually confuse Geek and Lesbian food. Largely because the spots that serve this cuisine advertise that they are both geek and lesbian.

Serop's on corporate is better. Schwarma and Gyro has a much better flavor.

Is Serop's regular better than Serop's Express? i've only had express and you have to choke the chicken down with a drink it's so dry

if one were to eat the chicken with a popeyes biscuit and no drink, they would die

Yeah it's better. I prefer Albasha but it's comparable. Serop's Express sucks

It's been years since I've been but the Corporate location used to be far better than the express ones.

I agree with Carson about Serop's Express. The meat is dry, the hummus is lumpy, the salad is bad and the pita is dry and brittle. Not a fan.

Please feel free to correct me FB, but I think Serop's is living off its 80's and 90's reputation. It used to aspire to relatively high end dining, but now it just tastes like "yeah that's what too much garlic tastes like."

I think this is mainly a Louisiana thing for some reason. I seek out Middle eastern food when I travel and never see it referred to as Greek. Do a search for Greek Lebanese restaurants and nearly every result on the first few pages is for places in Louisiana.

greek food is different.

Chicken Sharma and gyro are actually lebanese. people who visited greece are very surprised to find out the food is different.
