Sucré, the high-end dessert shop co-founded by chef Tariq Hanna and that grew to three stores in New Orleans, is closing all locations effective Monday (June 17), the company announced. "Your support of our products has touched our hearts and we will be forever grateful that you allowed us to expand your love for finer pastries in our community with our macarons, chocolates, gelatos, cakes, and entremets," said a statement from Sucré's managers.

I'm assuming, damn pool parties did him in.

That's too bad. The location on Conti was a good place to cool off and get something sweet. Seems like there was a line, often. Never tried the king cake.

I liked his gelato and other offerings. I wasn't a fan of their king cakes.

Their macaroons were really solid though.

Are you black and like coffee or do you just like black coffee?

Neither.

When I made the account I was sitting next to an 10 year old who was drinking black coffee. Hence the username.

And no more mediocre filled chocolates and bars sold at a premium price.

RE: gelato, I wasn't a fan of the artificial colors. Everything at Sucre tried too damn hard to be "pretty", as defined by a preteen girl who liked glitter. Luster dust on every damn thing in sight.
