not sure the name. It had alot of writing on it and I think it said a date on it like 1504 or something. They had it on tap at avenue pub when I went a month ago.
Also picked up a smoked marzen:

Dan at Stein's said the state is getting 60 cases. More than enough to go around. There is a little confusion though since someone previously claimed it would only be 10. Since dan said he's getting 4 cases off the bat, I believe it will be closer to 60 (assuming he really is getting 4).
60 is better than 10.

I'm assuming you are referring to Life and Limb. 60 cases is a lot. I am unsure how confident I am that we are getting 60 cases of it since we didnt get any last time.

yeah, and it is alot. But they did say its production was going to be similar to ovila series, which is everywhere.
IDK, theres alot of confusion about this brew.
btw, my beer is infected

btw, my beer is infected . I still bottled it w/ vanilla in hopes that it would cover it up enough for it to be drinkable for me.
How did you figure that out? Does it just taste like shite?

Yeah, tastes slightly sour, but a bad sour. Strange off flavor that tastes like wierd yeast. Top of the barrel wasn't that bad, but when I got to the bottom the smell was awful and tasted worse.
I'm going to bring one (from the top of the barrel) to the next tasting or meeting to get some ideas. At least people will be able to taste what not to do.

Sounds good, although that sucks. I was concerned about my two kolsch's that were slow but both seem to taste pretty good.

Question about my pending Pumkin beer...
My smack pack came to me swollen but not smacked. Didn't realize this until we poured it in and felt the inside bubble. Popped it and mixed everything in.
That was Sunday night.
Still no activity as of this morning and I've rolled it some and shook it a bit last night.
Assuming there's no activity when I get home what are my options. Expensive beer so far I'd rather not throw it out.

Hope its ok and doesn't turn out like mine. I may pour most of it down the drain
.
Learning exp. Maybe I should've just put it into a secondary, added some bugs, and let it sit for a year to make it a full blown sour porter? Ideas for next time anyway.

You could always throw more yeast in. Chances are its just slow but can't hurt to spend a little more money on some yeast rather than the whole beer.
Side note. Have yall had Stones anise Belgian imperial stout? Saw it at marcellos but didn't pick it up.

Had it. Not sure how I feel about it compared to the Non Belgian one. I like Imperial Stouts so it was worth the pick up for me.

I've had one sitting in my fridge for a few weeks now, just haven't gotten around to it.

Same thing happened with us a few weeks ago. No activity after 4 days. The yeast vial came in off the fedex truck about 95 degrees. So we grabbed some more at Marcello's and sprinkled on top, gave it a swirl and had activity within 12 hours.
