It was in teh cooler and on the shelves at Matherne's. that being said... I really like it. I think it's a really nice pilsner/Hef brew.

Whole Foods will have it out tomorrow morning. We will be doing a beer tasting with SOS and wine tasting Saturday from 1-5. An Abita brewer will be there as well to talk about the beer.

Nice.
It's a good beer. Runs $4.20 a pop. I'll definitely get more considering the cause.

yes, it's the 22oz only which myself and my distributor think is a poor idea.

Agreed. It's too high of an alcohol content to sell in Mississippi and the bottles are too big to be sold in Alabama. Fwiw, someone should have thought about that before selling Oil Spill Relief beer in 1/3 of the states affected...

Maybe I'm just bitter that we can't get it here.

Maybe you should write those bible-beatin policians in Alabama.

This is Alabama, we speak English.

More of a reason for MS and AL to get rid of their antiquated laws.

Exactly what we said last night. Thought it was good. Got it at Matherne's on Bluebonnet.

An Abbey ale and a pilsner should use dramatically different yeasts.

I honestly didn't think it tasted anything like Abby Ale. Abby Ale is an ale and it tastes like one. SOS tastes nothing like an ale of any sort.

It absolutely tastes like a pilsner/mild hefeweizen, just as Abita describes.

Glad to hear that...I'm not a fan of the Abbey Ale at all.

Just called a couple of place in Shreveport, Cuban and Tony's. They said it will be a couple of weeks.

Sorry if this was discussed already.

That Abby Ale was just what I thought of the first couple of sips. Guess my taste buds are just strange.
When I poured my second glass, it did taste alot less like that Ale. Either way, this will not be something I am beating down the door to get.
