I just bought a 6 pack up here in SC. Is it decent compared to Abita's other seasonals?

I keep looking for it but haven't seen it in stores yet. Maybe I'm not looking at the right stores.

I was surprised to see it up here. But I was at Greens, which is a beer/wine store the size of a small supermarket, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

Well, it is Mardi Gras season. It should be there by now.

I really enjoy it. Some of my friends are less sold. My favorite seasonal for the record is the Red Ale

The bock is one of the original seasonal's by abita. I have enjoyed it over many mardi gras seasons. It's very comparable in quality to the other seasonals but different in style.

You were in Green's and you walked away with Abita product?

Had some the other night. I can't seem to find the :puke: emoticon to use to describe it.

I also walked out with Bell's Two Hearted Ale. I always try to walk out of there with at least one 6 pack of something I haven't had before.

ETA: I'm on my 2nd bottle of it. I enjoy it so far. I can't see myself drinking it for an entire night, but it's a good beer to have one or two of during a sitting.

I don't mind it at all. It is also pretty strong with 6.5% alcohol.

I've tried Bell's Oberon before. That was pretty good.

I had a sixer about 3 weeks ago and it's good enough.

But honestly, it's pretty much a carbon copy of Jockamo IPA with a little less hop bite. It may say Bock and that's all fine but to me, it has the same flavor and color as Jockamo.

It's not one of my favorites. I mean it's ok, I'll drink it. But I don't crave it

I'm not a huge Abita fan, but I don't hate it either like a lot of folks do. Their Bock is one of my favorits of theirs, mostly because I like Mai Bocks a lot.

I really like their Restoration Pale Ale. But some of their stuff is just bad. This isn't terrible, and its certainly not the worst thing I've ever had from Abita. That title still goes to Abita Light.
