East Jefferson is hard for me...I thought, well, maybe it's too much Italian in there, but then again, I don't think you'd want to go with Byblos (that's simply the first thing I thought of), just for the sake of having something non-Italian.
I definitely know of one dark horse in the NOLA area which I won't mention on here...
Pretty sure TulaneLSU advised that it's not necessarily about the very best dining - so that's why you'd perhaps see a pizza place, or a dessert place as well.
