Exactly - that defeats the purpose of having specific people covering particular areas of the state.
TulaneLSU may need to rethink this a little bit...

From what I understand you submit a list for all 64 spots.
i thought we all picked the restaurants in our area and then combine them?

Thats where the area reps should come in and help.. Maybe the area reps submit the X amount of restaurants from their area and everyone seeds them.. (this may be what he is talking about not sure though) I dont have a problem with that method.. If everyone just picks their fav 64 then we will have a problem with what to do with the places that are not as well known getting trumped by a Mike Andersons..

That's what I love about TD.com, a perpetual state of mass confusion.

i think that's what we need to do. we all submit X amount from our chosen area, and then the committee seeds them (a vote between committee members) and everyone else votes who wins

Plan #2.
The regionals will be as follows.
Old New Orleans
(7 FQ, 5 Uptown, 4 at large bids)
Yat New Orleans
(3 Mid-City/Lakeview, 1 Gentilly/ 8th and 9th Wards, 1 Chalmette, 5 East Jefferson, 2 West Jefferson, 4 at large bids)
Florida Parishes to Acadiana
(3 Northshore, 4 Baton Rouge, 3 Lafayette, 2 Acadiana, 5 at large bids)
North Louisiana and Etcetera
(2 Houma/Thibodaux, 1 Lake Charles, 2 Alexandria, 3 Shreveport, 2 Monroe, 5 at large bids)
glassman, clooneyisgod, and niknik are responsible for Old New Orleans seeding.
Brock Landers and Tiger Attorney are responsible for seeding the 16 Yat New Orleans restaurants.
Catman and supatigah, with help from others for Northshore restaurants, are responsible for seeding the 16 Florida Parishes to Acadiana regional.
LSUZombie and LSUGUMBO (and another unnamed Monroe member) are responsible for the North Louisiana and Etcetera seeding.
AT LARGE bids do not, I repeat, do not, have to come from your regional geography. An Old New Orleans member can pick Johnny's if they want.

I don't expect you to know right away, but please let us know about deadlines and all that stuff...

After consultation with your paired committee member, you will be required to submit your consensus seeds by midnight tonight.
I will then randomly begin pairing seeds. #1 Old New Orleans will not necessarily play #16 Old New Orleans. It may be #1 Old New Orleans against #16 North.
The opening game will be tomorrow. We will have two opening round games each day for the next 16 days.

Sounds like a great re-work!
And if anyone complains about the price of the final place for the get together...they can stay their

TA, whenever you're around, let me know how you want to proceed...

I am out of pocket next week, but I will do my best to vote on the spots for sure. I definitely think the bracket should be mixed up geographically.

Quick clarification. For Old New Orleans, are we considering the Warehouse Distirct as part of the FQ category?
Posted on 3/26/09 at 10:27 am to clooneyisgod
Yes. FQ and Warehouse are one entity.

As the committee makes their selection, are we sending them via email, or posting them here?
