I'm going to MoPHO tomorrow for lunch. Not sure whether to get the beef pho or the fowl.

If you like authentic pho, skip their version. It will leave you disappointed. Try other things on the menu. The duck poboy is great.

The problem with MoPho is that it has been overhyped, plain and simple. Instead of allowing it to establish a following based on its own merit, it was heavily promoted and glorified before it even opened and essentially set itself up for failure.

All they did was open up and cook. They didn't write the articles or attempt to hype themselves up.

If you wish to hold them to a diferent standard, that's your prerogative.

I just don't care for the pho broth. Place should be called MoFaux. The few things I've had outside the pho were good and I do plan to continue to eat there, but I just don't plan on ordering pho again.

I read quite a few articles about MoPho before it even opened, hyping Gulotta and whatnot. I think many people were expecting monumental things based on his repertoire and background, and many feel that it hasn't lived up to the hype. I'll make my own judgment in a few hours when I eat.

Yeah I'm not so sure about all that. The problem is that there are great pho joints all over town, and MoPho's pho isn't very good. Their best dishes are their fusion dishes throughout the menu, and the poboys.

People see a place call MoPho and expect the pho to be good. They should reconsider their name.

Just curious, what type of broth did you get?
