This is a map that shows who will be underwater and who wont. 1 meter = 3.280 Feet For those who mite need this information to properly interpurt the following link:
Water Rise Map
Yesterday East of Baton Rouge we saw another World Record, 62.4 Feet at Red River. Flood Stage ( I hope we all know what that means by now, if not please look it up) is 48 feet. 14.4 Feet over, wow who would have thought.
Current Flow Rate? ANYONE? -999 is not the flow rate do whoever posted a link which had data from the last 2 weeks with the flow rate reading -999. That is an error message. Please GOOGLE flow rate, and you will understand that -999 = NO READING

You do know this is a "sea level rise" scenario map, right? And not due to the river?
Seriously, one of the reasons legitimate climate science can't get a foothold in mainstream consciousness is the guy on the sidewalk holding a cardboard sign claiming the world is ending. If this really is something you care about, please go back to concentrating on the terrorist threat. You're needed over there.

To clarify, you believe the red river and Mississippi rising will cause a +7m sea level rise? My humblest apologies, then.

This is good. I live in Spring, TX. I would be a lot closer to the beaches.

The reason I post information here is to HELP people, no other reason. With that said, if you feel a need to make any type of negative comment than I strongly advise you to seek immediate help from a mental help professional. The interesting dynamic of it all is that those who have nothing but negative comments to make also are those who have given no valid information. I have not posted anything that has not been factual, while others have posted only personal opinion.
If you want to show how "smart you are" then find the current flow rates. Even better, if you have a boat and access to the river, then I can explain to you how to collect the data yourself. That would make you really important, and my hero.

Where? I am looking at the link, I do not see anything regarding flow rate. Flow rate for the MS river is Avg 450,000 cfs, when the rate reaches a million + you will find a K after the last number, which will be in decimal form. So 1,200,000 cfs would be written as 1.2KcFs = 1 Million Two hundred thousand Cubic Feet of Water. That link has no data that reflects current flow rate.
Please advise as to what link you are following and what data you are looking at.

You're not very smart, are you?

What is the point of this crap?
Posted on 5/24/11 at 12:43 pm to notiger1997
What IS the point of this? Why are we discussing sea level rise? Is this sea level rise the result of the Mississippi River and Spillway running off into the Gulf after the flood?
Posted on 5/24/11 at 12:52 pm to notiger1997
Well apparently the flooding of the Mississippi River can cause a global sea level rise of 7 meters.
