re: Another Rise in the River Coming?

Happily admitting I was wrong! Kudos to those involved in the project, it's kept everyone high and dry so far. Hope all that happens out of this is everybody winds up with a bunch of free fill dirt!

But we can't overlook the fact this flooding is unique
True. But if doomsday scenarios are on the table, why stop at an eroded levee? That's SO played out, see the Darrow photo. Awesome, yet not terribly cataclysmic. I vote we turn Shaun onto the 73 scouring at the low sill, and the consequences of ORCS failure. That should perk up my work day!!!

Ken Holder with the Corps said one bay was closed last night and two more today, bringing the total number of open bays down to 14. Holder said readings taken by the U. S. Geological Survey showed around 172,000 cubic feet of water per second was flowing out of the Spillway with 17 bays open, which was significantly more than the 114,000 CFS the Corps thought was flowing through it.
Well I guess that answers my question.

Chill pill, per your info, is this the beginning part of the actual scale down?
The red river is holding steady and does not show a significant forecast drop.

I know today in Nola and BR there was a slight drop (tenths), would this be a trend they expect to continue or normal fluctuation?
Also, check out the Ohio in the above link. They are still well above flood stage in the northern most reaches and expecting another crest of several feet in the next week.

The most blatant plagiarism was claiming the sea level map was his own work. It had an authorship link on the page. Sigh...
Thanks bard. What a/b the office buildings directly across from hollywood casino?
Ehh??? Say what now?

Google Earth has some awesome time lapse images put together too. One is 10 years of the Chandeleurs. Impressive and sad
No one is saying that it's only of interest to conspiracy nuts. It's just this guy is a confirmed one.
All the info he cut and pasted above is accurate, doubt anyone would dispute that. And hey, this time he left out the terrorists.

No worries, the Mississippi is one of the 3 Gorges they are referring to in the dam project. They got it covered.
Come on, that's just a tributary, the Yucasippi. The main channel meanders down and actually plows into the Amazon. They meet with the force of 10,000 nuclear weapons and the kinetic energy produced from the mystery flow rates generates enough heat to melt the polar ice caps.
So far from Stephensville to Belle River area, nada yet. Outside the levees of course. Inside, well I sent someone a photo of the BR boat launch, and they asked "what lake is that?"
In this scenario, would downtown be flooded as well?
But if his theory is backwater flooding, why is it also impacting the yucutan? Remember, this is HIS map, he made it!

To clarify, you believe the red river and Mississippi rising will cause a +7m sea level rise? My humblest apologies, then.
