I don't know anything about how this is set up aside from a few things picked up on this board these last few days. Something I'm curious about - if (when) the Morganza spillway is opened, will it be flooding people's houses or just a lot of farmland? Obviously both are regrettable, but I feel like flooding fields is a much easier sell.

It will be flooding homes, farmlands, businesses, and whole towns.

What are the "whole towns" that are located WITHIN the spillway?

I think this is sensationalized but in any way those who will be affected have KNOWN that this is a possibilty for a LONG LONG TIME!!!!

The OP was wanting to know what was going to be impacted by the flooding from opening the Spillway. Place like Krotz Springs, Livonia, Maringouin, etc are what I was referring to.

That doesn't make it an easy decision. It directly affects human life, whether they knew it or not.
