Thank you, finally an answer as to whether the forecast includes Morganza.
My next question is, do these forecast take into account places like Vidalia possibly turning into a flood plane like area?

I wonder when the patrols to look for sand washout start.
Weren't there a few points in 08 that started to flow underneath (they found and caught them before they can erode the levee away)

All I know is this is an historic event and hopefully all of the control structures and levees operate they way they are supposed to. My worry is that local levee boards(see Katrina)don't have the ability to actually maintain these structures in times of dire circumstances.

My 'conspiracy theorist' opinion:
The normal flow rate through ORCS is 30%, they plan on upping that to 31-32% because they feel that if they allow too much more than that to flow through, then Morganza won't be able to divert enough water (obviously this theory is based on Morganza being opened which, from what I've seen, most people expect).
I feel that is a BS reason, as they aren't going to say that the real reason they won't allow a greater % to flow through ORCS is because they are afraid that it will crumble, thus fricking everything...EVERYTHING...up.

Holy shite that is bad. I had a friend in college with a camp at Lake Albermarle(sp?)near Natchez. I imagine it is going to be the same.

I can not speak for the CORPS but the USGS gages are routinely surveyed to account for subsidence.
