I know farmers who have already given up on the year. It is a total loss in some areas already. Most of those guys are now concentrating on moving equipment, loved ones........ect.

Oh you motherfricker.

ETA: The one consolation about this kind of disaster is we should see very few deaths.

I think the country as a whole(not just MissLou) are starting to realize that this is not a 'normal' flood stage. Could easily look like 1993 if shite don't hold.

Why do you think the media is not really jumping on this yet in a big way?

This reminds me of newpaper headline my father-in-law saved from the late 50's. I deleted the actual word used (bannage fear), because it might be offensive to blacks...but it was commonly used back then.

Waterproof [person] Drowns in Dry Creek

Ironically, we lost the article in a flood.

I ain't mad at em. It's understandable for the country to not pay attention until people start dying. Like someone said, we don't pay too much attention to wild fires in dry states unless people are getting burned.

Not sure. People preparing for a flood doesn't make for good TV but when it goes bad and people are trapped and devastated the media will be in full force.

In Natchez the highest the river has ever been is 58 feet. Its at 50 right now and forecasts are for it to reach 65-70 feet by the 21st. The LA side could be a total disaster.

All of the storage buildings and rental places are filled. They are talking about ending school this week and maybe mandatory evacuations next week.

People are scrambling.
