I realize the Raiders WR group is pretty thin but Bryan Edwards is probably the guy I would drop.

On second thought, James Robinson doesn’t give me much value as the Jags’ potential 3rd string RB. They may bring somebody else in at some point also since they worked out Devonta Freeman...

Who are your starters? It’s most likely Howard. He’s not gonna give you much, we know his ceiling, and that team will have to throw. The other guys have a higher upside

I mean, the “Known” of Jordan Howard is a 10-15 carry guy with goaline work. Not huge, but solid bench stash for a bye week or injury replacement. The other RB in Miami is as injury prone as it gets even though I drafted Breida in hopes he balls out in a PPR lol

Yea Howard is a known quantity, and something you probably don’t want to start. You’re hoping for 10 pts if you have to play him. If you have to play him, you’re probably going to lose bc you have too many RBs injured or on bye. All of those others could blow up and be a valuable trade asset to get someone better than Howard in the event OP needs a fill in RB

You’re dropping either Howard or Robinson. Scott is a valuable handcuff (especially owning Sanders), Akers is obviously valuable but later in the season if he wins the job, and Edwards has the chance to be a good asset at WR from week 1 with a lot of hype about him from camp. Howard is a known quantity. He’s not gonna do much receiving the ball, and he’s splitting time with Breida on a team likely to throw a lot. Robinson is a complete unknown, but apparently the team feels good about him and he’s going to be the starter. Howard will only start for you in bye weeks. But Robinson could blow up and be a flex player for you if he gets majority carries, some receiving work and goal line work on that team. Robinson was a solid receiver in college, carried a good load, and had a high yards after contact. This early in the season I’d like to place my bets on high value bets instead of bye week fillers

Robinson is the team’s starter, Armstead is believed to be out several weeks (probably has covid), Chris Thompson is a situational player, and Ozigbo has already been cut by the Saints (probably not very good). Robinson can win the job outright in the first few weeks

It's usually easier to replace a WR than it is a RB, you can do A LOT worse than Jordan Howard on the waiver wire!

I basically agree with your case here, I just feel a potential starting RB is far too valuable. Especially considering Breida hasn’t shown to stay healthy. I realize Howard’s ceiling is low, but you can atleast count on him getting touches at any point throughout the season. I honestly don’t know much about Bryan Edwards. Heard good things from camp but never really watched him in college and it’s the Raiders. I expect heavy dose of TE’s and Josh Jacobs.

I would drop Howard especially in PPR. Dolphins will be playing from behind slot and he can’t catch so he offers very little upside. James Robinson and Bryan Edwards both have more upside. You know what you are getting with Howard but you don’t know with Edwards and Robinson which makes their ceiling higher

Miami’s offensive line is also really bad

You can make a similar argument against Robinson. A team that will be playing from behind, Chris Thompson will be the pass-catcher reunited with Jay Gruden, a lot of mouths to feed at RB, and not even sure their O-Line is that much better than Miami.

How is picking which mediocre rb to drop so hard? Haha

You are right but the fact that the jags cut Fournette and actually labeled JAmes Robinson as the RB1 would makes him more intriguing to me. But could probably go either. Howard to me is just so one dimensional that he gives you no upside.

Your suggestion is to drop Howard because he doesn't get the passing down work and is on a bad team, but you're intrigued by Robinson even though he won't get the passing down work and is on a worse team.

That's interesting.

ETA: Howard averages over 4 YPC and has never scored fewer than 6 TDs in a season. He had 525 yards and 6 TDs in 9 games last year before getting injured, and he's going to handle all of the 1-2 down and goal line work for the Dolphins. He's a low end RB2 to high end RB3 which is very difficult to find on the WW.

Without looking back at the stats, these were my thoughts lol. RB being so valuable makes Howard a must-roster going into the season, even if he’s your RB4 or worse (which means you are in good shape)

In my opinion, Miami is a worst team right now. Jordan howard has no competency in the pass game at all so I just don’t like his outlook. He is going to be very TD dependent and if Breida gets injured still isn’t competent enough to pick up that roll. He has hands of stone. I don’t expect Howard to get a lot of scoring opportunities.

I get that Chris Thompson will be the 3rd down back in Jacksonville but we don’t know if Robinson has a pulse in the pass game. If he does that may make him more valuable especially if Thompson gets hurt who has extensive injury history. Lastly, I get that Fournettte is way more talented but he did rush for over 1000 yards with practically the same oline that the jags are bringing in this year.

We know what we getting out of howard and it isn’t pretty. We don’t know what we getting out of Robinson. Could be a complete bust but I always go with higher upside.
