Which of these 4 rookie WRs do you expect to have the better year?

Thinking Jefferson or Jeudy since both will likely operate from the slot.

Jefferson is a bit limited by a run heavy offense, but someone has to get those targets vacated by Diggs. Another thing potentially working against him is that the Vikings are going to use Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith a lot, and Cousins is comfortable throwing to them over the middle which is also where Jefferson operates best.

Some of the veterans in Broncos camp have said Jeudy is the best route runner they've seen period, not just as a rookie. I think his game translates really well to the way refs call a game today. Lock seems to be targeting him a lot in the redzone in practice reports too. I think he's got the highest ceiling

Ruggs should have a Mecole Hardman type season. He'll have some monster weeks and some weeks he disappears. Derrick Carr just doesn't have the stones to push the ball down the field though and that's going to limit Ruggs upside.

If I had a gun to my head I'd say Jeudy scores the most fantasy points.


4 rookies is a major gamble though. I'd probably look really hard at some young guys that might be on waivers and poised for a breakout. Paris Campbell would be one to watch

Target distro past Waller is gonna be tough to call in LV. Renfrow, Agholor the three rookies Edwards, Ruggs, Bowden, Jacobs gets more looks? Richard?

Juedy is good but tied to drew lock. Sutton and Fant are likely locked into 200 targets. The rooks Juedy and Hamler, then returning guys Hamilton, Patrick. The RBs catch a lot of balls.

Pittman isn’t on my radar

Jefferson is the answer. Clear path to targets with an accurate QB.

Curious at the thought process here.

Same with Jefferson too really- how his situation and competition for targets is different than the other guys. Rudolph and Irv Smith were both 15-20 targets shy of Noah Fant last year and Smiths role will only increase.

Every guy mentioned in OP sans Pittman is going to be on the field for 95% of the passing plays if they're healthy so I don't see where the target competition plays a huge factor. They'll all get the opportunity to run a lot of routes

Nothing to do with ruggs. What is the target distribution look like in LV if Carr has 500 attempts with his shitty air yards per attempt? There will be boom plays but what about week to week consistency? Nothing in LV gives me faith

7.2 vacated targets per game and 1,400+ air yards open in MIN. WRs are a nothing burger after Theilen and Jefferson. The TEs remain from last year and will split their ~80 targets. If Smith’s role increases its at the expense of Rudolph. Jefferson’s catch% and Cousins accuracy should lead to efficient targets. For rookie WR historically, this is the type of situation that leads to production

And Noah Fant carried an 80 target pace with Lock under center last year. There is a rapport there

Phillip Rivers targeted his TEs an NFL high 36.3% of the time the last 5 years. You’re going to have to go through Hilton, TEs, Campbell, maybe even Hines before you get to Pittman imo

And I like van Jefferson a lot

I actually have Ruggs and Edwards. Took Edwards in the last round. There has actually been talk of Ruggs playing some slot where they can get the ball to him quicker. Ruggs is not a Mecole Hardman type player. Ruggs is fast but is also a good route runner. There has also been mention that a lot of the offense may be centered around Ruggs. I like his upside. Edwards and Ruggs have both been talked up in camp and will both start.

I liked Raegor a lot before he got hurt. Thought he was A perfect for the eagles. Can stretch the field and has serious hops when the ball is in the air.

Not a fan of Ceedee this year bc he has too much competiton with Coop and Gallup. It is hard for me to get on the a jeudy train bc the Broncos have been so bad offensively for so long. Not sure I buy Lock yet. However he did play well in the sample size so he is worth a shot. I like Jets upside Too but looks like he will start off the season as the wide receiver 3. Vikings seem to like Bisi.

Van Jefferson is an interesting pick. Just over took Reynolds for the third receiver and has been the talk of camp. Reynolds played in the double tight end sets with Woods so you wonder if he can get that role. He is perfect for the rams offense and very similar skill set to woods. If one of cooks or woods go down then he could be huge.

Aiyuk has a clear road to targets if he can get healthy but Like Jets he is in a run first offense. Pittman is looking like he will need time to develop in the pros. Maybe a late season bloomer or maybe next season. Mims doesn’t have much value due to poor qb play
