Dallas is signing veteran RB Ronnie Hillman, per source.

A sense: could be indication of concern over NFL decision on Ezekiel Elliott.

quote:

Broncos running back Devontae Booker is set to miss time due to a wrist injury, but the team does not currently expect his absence to spill over into the regular season.

quote:

Bill Belichick said Rob Gronkowski's recovery from back surgery was completed at start of offseason program. "No limits that I'm aware of."

quote:

Joe Flacco will miss the first week of Baltimore's camp and is preparing to miss three to six weeks with a disc issue in his back, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported, per sources informed of the situation.

And just to add this: Rod Smith is #3 tailback right now over Alfred Morris. That goes back to minicamp

I read each of the NFL Nation projected 53/starter pieces. Not enough surprises for a full piece, but here are my notes:

when Aguayo gets cut, Bucs fans swore drafting him in the 2nd was just a brilliant move "we've locked up K for the next decade"

I'd say between his suspensions and injuries, its nothing new for Bell to be gone an extended period and not miss a beat I guess if you're looking for a tie breaker between he and Johnson that could be it though?

FWIW I don't blame any RB for holding out ASAP, RBs drafted in round 1 got royally fricked by the CBA. Teams can basically run the tires off of them for 6 years (5th year option, 1 year franchise tag) for next to nothing and then bounce them once the majority of their good years are behind them

None at all as far as I would be concerned. He wouldn't be doing much anyway. Doesn't hurt him or the Steelers that much, IMO. He's going to play under the tag this year. Would be an idiot not to. $$ will be there following this season. The Steelers don't negotiate once their contracts are signed, this is his chance to finally turn the tables on upper management for the players in that organization and get max $. Or leave.

The Miami Herald reports DeVante Parker "(blew) up" the first day of Dolphins training camp.
"I think he was looking to not ease into camp," coach Adam Gase said afterward. "When I saw him (Wednesday) night, I could tell he was ready to get after it." Parker was an offseason puff piece fixture, perhaps setting a record. Both the Dolphins and media alike have been hyping his improvement since the first pad-less practice. According to Fantasy Football Calculator's ADP, Parker is currently the No. 92 player off the board.

Oh no that sucks, we'd lose the "guys Aaron Rodgers has never had a TE like _____ before" pick

quote:

Per ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley, Mallett "looked awful" filling in for Joe Flacco (back). Hensley observed two other throws that were nearly picked off, and on his final interception, Mallett "threw his white towel in the air," prompting Terrell Suggs to say, "tell (OC Marty Mornhinweg) to tell Mallett to throw to the guys wearing the purple jerseys (on offense)." The Ravens have been considering signing free agent Colin Kaepernick.

Per Jags.com's John Oehser, Marrone "wasn't joking about this, and he wasn't smiling" when he spoke. "Zero," Marrone replied when asked how many times he wants Blake Bortles to attempt a pass each game. "I’d like to run the ball every play. I want to go back to the old way. I want to change the game." It's the same style of football Dallas and Tennessee have successfully implemented over the past few years. Leonard Fournette will be the centerpiece of the Jaguars' offense, and the weekly game plan will be to hide Bortles.
