not arguing but curious about your logic.

I prefer a slow draft and I prefer a games limit per week.

I don't really care either way about the draft, but this league will be making a major mistake if it doesn't do something about weeks where one team is getting outgamed by 10 in a league that uses raw totals instead of averages.

I think in general when applied to pretty much anything in life the longer people have to make a rational decision favors those with higher intellectual skills. The person who doesn't "know what they are doing" isn't going to figure it out no matter how long you give them. Whereas the people who do "know what they are doing" are more likely to make a mistake when forced to make under the gun decisions.

Most of the problem lies in people who insist on rostering people who are hurt. Well yeah, you're going to get out gamed. And the schedules last season were all fricked up.
Now we are going to limit games? What about teams who have a full roster of guys who are capable of playing? Let's penalize them and reward the teams with (a) a shitty bench or (b) injured players.
As much as everyone mocks it, each NBA team is playing 82 games. How does it not even out?
Lets limit weekly transactions, play a roto style, cut out the bench, and implement weekly locking lineups while we are at it.

sure it "evens out", sucks for you though when it "evens out" against you in the playoffs or a key matchup.

actually we reward the guys who draft 8 or 9 rosterable guys and use the other two spots to stream the entire season instead of rewarding those with a strong 10 man team or whatever or roster limit is. A few people have said their strategy is to always have open streaming spots. A league in which Vince Carter plays for 4 different teams in one scoring period is just bizarre to me.

I don't remembering it being a problem in the playoffs before last year. And really it's the same 3-4 people crying about it constantly
Posted on 9/25/12 at 3:40 pm to TigerPhan27
Well pick your strategy. That's what fantasy sports is all about.
Pick a solid team or stream. It's your choice.

I don't stream but I like to play hot players for 4-5 day stretches. It's one of the few things that keeps this league interesting.
And no one really streams until the end of the week. Even then, the players being picked up are as good as most peoples last 3-4 players. No team has ever been that deep really

all right.
we need to make some definitions on what we're voting on.
can we first start with the IR? let's knock that one out. Can I temporarily be added as a commish in this league? I can get this organized pretty quickly.
and if you want you can take my commish privileges away before the season.

I suppose, I just like the idea of having a good roster from top to bottom and not being forced to drop a guy that I drafted who has potential but might not play a lot to start the season just to pick up some scrub who may get two steals and an assist for me to win on sunday.
Posted on 9/25/12 at 3:57 pm to TigerPhan27
i'm with that. but i do think there's a trade off.
here's something i'll throw out there. what about a D league spot? this exists in real life.
what if you had a spot that you could put a potential player. a youngster or whomever, and the deal is his stats wouldn't count. but you could call him up and send him back down up to twice in the season.

on a side note, I love thaa Karma is mostly MIA for 11.5 months and then about once a year for a week he jumps in, takes control, and gets everything done before leaving again. He's like a hurricane

I wouldn't mind hearing what some others have to say before we go voting on shite. Rondo should be back home from rig duty soon, no? Where have touls and the others been?

he must have switched to one month on/ one month off schedule. Havent seen him in a long time

He responded to one of my TDBL emails that was sent out, giving me his vote on each topic. Didn't matter though, since they had already been decided by then.
