We definitely don't have to, it's just an idea. I was trying to think of a way to incentivize the losers at the end of the year to keep playing and setting competitive rosters for the integrity of the league. But it wasn't really a big problem last year anyway.

I'm open to any ideas on that or any other way to improve the league.

We definitely drafted too early last year. I'd like a very late august/ very early September draft this year. Last year we did mid august and I ended up drafting an injured player :'(

I can go for that.

The transaction fee is fine by me. But if we use that LeagueSafe site again, didn't it require voting before cash was dispursed? I obviously don't know a whole lot about that website, but I get the impression you're creating some minor, but additional work for yourself with counting transactions. If we do this, I'd suggest it be done as an end of season payoff so that you could actually enjoy the season. And then obviously catch up on 16/17 weeks of accounting when the season is over.

Regarding draft dates, the only time I can't participate is Aug 20th before 6pm due to another draft day commitment. I'd like to drive in on that day, but it'll be on the heals of a week long business trip, so there's a chance I may end up drafting remotely.

Patience lady. I don't rush acts of gratitude as if they were mere financial transactions.

Well since I'm selfish and thirsty, I'm going to propose Aug 20 for our draft day, so you can pay your debts if you're around.

In the past i've had leagues that did the transaction charge. All the transaction money went to the guy who finished the regular season with the most overall points.

I liked it because it rewarded the guy who had a great year. And how many times have you seen a guy dominate all year and have a fluke bad game and get knocked out the playoffs early.

just a thought.

I'd say the weekend of the 27-28th of August. That way we would have 3 weeks of Preseason out of the way. And hopefully, no one of fantasy importance would be playing in the 4th preseason game.

Yeah, I like that idea too - I dunno, I'd like for there to be a way to do both, but I don't want this to get too expensive for everyone - maybe a a few bucks of the overall prize money should be allocated to the point champion? I dunno, we've got time to think on it.

Re: the draft date - the weekend of Aug 27/28 could work for me. Can't do it the next weekend with LSU/OU. Weekdays might be easier to get everyone together, what about the week of 8/29-9/1? Our draft was pretty quick last year (under 2 hours I think).

then let's do penny transactions.

just letting everyone know that my bday is Sept 2. Don't save all your money for our FF buy in and potential transactions.

I'm pretty easy... I can do anything after 8/20 in terms of draft dates.

That sure would be easier. Maybe an 8pm start time? I can commit to any of those dates.

Will have to be either the 31st or 1st for me. I'm working nights for the 29th and 30th.

1) I'd like to request a transfer to either Yahoo or CBS for our fantasy league. I think people will like both those sites better than ESPN, which I've never found to be well put together.

2) Would anyone like to make adjustment to last years scoring system? Would you prefer non-PPR this year? Add more total yardage bonuses, etc...

I personally think bonus points for certain performance bonuses (such as extra points for longer field goals and similar bonuses for longer TD plays) are a bit childish. Grownups playing pretend football while engaging in GM fantasies and swapping banter reeking of bathroom humor should never stoop to that level.

But I do like PPR.

An interception should be worth more than a sack on defense since it results in taking away the other team's scoring opportunity while a sack gives them another chance except on 3rd down. If you do decide to adjust an INT from 1 point to 2, then I guess we'd have to do the same for fumble recoveries, offensive interceptions and fumbles.

I would ask to play, but it wouldn't be fair if I joined the league.
