You wont even be in the playoffs...so no worries about choking.
Posted on 7/28/11 at 11:50 am to BBONDS25
Well I guess you would know since you're the expert on how to not make it to the playoffs.

I've decided on a new strategy this year - ZERO pre-draft research into players. "Highest-ESPN rated player available" is the name of my game.
Championship, bitches.

Good plan. You will have a roster full of holdouts and injureds
Posted on 7/28/11 at 12:17 pm to NaturalBeam
so basically you're just autodrafting?

don't you have everyone's email addresses from last year already?

OK, let me revise my statement....I'm going to take the highest-rated player that is on a team and isn't hurt. And I'll use discretion in deciding what position to draft when. That's about it. I'm not going to look for the next uncovered gem. Too much time to invest. It's a crapshoot after that anyways.
I'll beat you frickers with the waiver wire.
Let me see if I can still log on to our old espn page, maybe the email addys will be there...

i fricking hate that bullshite. can we not play that way this year? it's unbearable for people who invest in their teams.

You'll want it the second your top player gets hurt.
btw, can anyone else log on to our old page? I can't remember my username or password for espn, and it won't send me a reminder unless I know one or the other. If you can, see if you can tell me my name or screenname or something.

OK, I reactivated the league, and still have everyone's email from last year. Y'all just tell me who to delete, and who to add in and the new email addresses.
I'm not going to get around to this until this weekend or early next week though.
Let's go ahead and start throwing out some draft dates/times.

Also, let's hear any suggestions for improvements this year.
One idea I had: Charging $1 per transaction (making a trade or picking up a guy on the wire), and having each week's transaction money awarded to the highest individual score for the week.
This could cut down on the needless wire pickups and force everyone to be a bit more selective so there is more talent left for the taking. And then it would also give an incentive to the teams at the bottom of the standings to keep playing and setting competitive rosters, as they would have a chance to win $15 bucks or so each week.

I wanna draft when Willie stroker can come. EZE, just get Mrs. Eze to watch babies. Unless yall all plan on bringing your wives and reminding me how I'm not a wife... in which case it would probably be too depressing for me and I wouldn't go.
We can do the.dollar thing. I made over 100 acquisitions last year though ...

A live draft isn't going to work for me. My work schedule is far too hectic lately combined with my wife still doing her clinicals. I get that a live draft would be fun, but not feasible...at least not for me.

If we didn't use a waiver wire, we would be playing with 5-6 players by week 4.
It wouldn't work without a waiver wire.

Invest in some research. Hell, just download the Twitter app and follow Adam Schefter, Doug Farrar, John Clayton, etc...
You'll know every injury and transaction the moment they happen.
I'm also ok with $1 per transaction.

I cant wait to rape all of you. If you guys play fantasy as well as you debate politics this will be the easiest money I've made since I bought all those Iraqi dinars.
