However, this is why the players association is fighting so hard on the DUI issue. The NFL is being ridiculous and the sooner they realize that the sooner this deal with get done.
Don't they want to be able to punish players for DUI before they are convicted? Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous. To say it differently they want to punish players for a crime before they are sure that they actually did it.

Josh Gordon reinstatement is inevitable.

ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi reports that not only have the Browns not emptied his locker, but speculates that his return to the field is “inevitable.”

It tells me that that Gordon’s lawyers – probably even the Browns — were tipped that he would be reinstated soon.

Gordon, who reportedly tested positive for marijuana this past offseason, would still be facing a two-game suspension for the DWI he got on July 5, but the union doesn’t want punishment until due process as part of the new agreement.

This DUI stuff is what concerns me about them not getting a deal done, I don't blame the players for not agreeing to this

He's already missed one game. Give him one more for the DWI (and let him get back up to game speed at practice) then we can all move on with our lives

Gordon makes some idiotic decisions but he seems to have bad luck
Barely trays positive for weed then gets popped for DUI at .09

question.. what if the players agree to the dui thing and gordon is reinstated, then he is ruled guilty in court on dui in a couple months? What then?

Source told me that if #NFL lets Gordon and Welker back in, everyone dating back to new CBA in '11 will fight for revised suspensions and $$

What the heck? Would they be allowed to do that? I thought Gordon and Welker were being relieved because their suspensions happened "this year" (preseason on).
