Is Jimmy Graham going to be the #1 TE this year in fantasy?

Hear me out. He will have the master of fades throwing him red zone passes at an easy average of 2-3 a game. I think Jimmy is going to flourish in the GB system. (I'm trying to be a realistic, unbiased Saints fan here).

Regardless, Gronk is clearly his competitor in fantasy to Gronk's advantage, but I think Jimmy can have a better fantasy season honestly. And Kelce has a new guy throwing him passes which makes him unpredictable, even though I think he will still have an incredible fantasy year considering KC is about to throw the ball A LOT more than the last decade of small ball. Just my thoughts.....

Give me your thoughts on where you rank Jimmy Graham as far as Tight Ends go. And who do you have in front of him, wherever you place him.

I don’t think he’s even in the top tier with Gronk, Kelce, and Ertz. I’d compare him to Antonio Gates 2 or 3 years ago- very good red zone weapon, not much else to his game.

He should have stayed in New Orleans. If he did, he would have gone down as the best TE, statistically, in the NFL.

This literally has nothing to do with this thread

Ertz
Gronk
Kelce
Graham
Henry
Engram

There's your top 6, in no particular order (except for the top 3)

If Graham doesn't score touchdowns last year he has a very sub par season.

GB doesn't really feature the TE, (obviously could change).

You might be relying on TD's with Jimmy, a dicey situation.

quote:

Among 26 TEs with at least 50 targets, Graham finished 18th in YPG (32.5) and 21st in yards per reception (9.12). And after averaging 1.85 yards gained per route run in 2015-16 (top-8), Graham posted an abysmal 1.12 YPRR figure in 2017 (fourth-worst of 22 TEs).

quote:

Over the last four years with Rodgers, and not including time Rodgers has missed, Packer TEs are averaging only 3.8/37.5/.3 per game, which isn’t anything special (9.54 PPR points per game)

He’ll get lots of red zone targets but don’t expect an 80/1000 season. Top 10

He had a pretty major injury a couple of years ago that tends to be the type that players are never quite the same after. He has a lot of wear.

health is the only thing standing between Graham and 10 TDs

he will have a Julius Thomas w Peyton Manning type season. Modest yards and catches, heavy TDs

Without Jordy in GB I think we can see Rodgers going to Graham more often than expected.

The last decent te Rodgers had was Jermichael Finley. He had about 800yards with 8 tds on 92 targets. I expect similar stats.

There’s guys in the league that were drafted in 2000 that are still tearing up the league

Then there are guys who can’t make a roster that has decent seasons a few years ago and are relatively young

You can be washed without being Old

And Finley was a drop machine.. The amount of redzone jumpballs that were thrown at him was ridiculous.. Expect the same for Graham unless they double him.

I really like Engram for 2018.
Running game improvement will take some pressure off Eli and open Engram up for more opportunity.
