Why does everything have to be so extreme with people on this board?

Mitchell is a low-end RB2 ROS, just like most of the rest of the gamescript dependent backs who don't really play passing downs

He's not the savior/league winner, he's not waiver wire fodder now that Jeff Wilson is back. He's just fine, and that's okay

Not every year will have some top 8 running back you get for free from waivers

I’m not sure about that. The missing piece keeping this guy from being a borderline RB1 was passing targets.

Picked up 43 yards on 5 catches (5 targets) last night.

Whether it’s +17 carries or less with some targets baked in, he’s getting fantastic usage in a very productive RB system.

I do. But the season is nearly halfway over and Mitchell has nowhere near delivered on the investment that people made in him. I have him. I think he's good. But, I got him for free. The comparison to last year's James Robinson earlier. Mitchell is nothing like that. He's just a middle of the road RB2.

I’m starting to realize. Which, in my RB scenario, I’m very happy with. It’s been bad.

It looks like game script won’t affect him much. He got targets the previous game when down. So I’ll take a Top 20 finish ROS.

You’d expect a better output on 27 carries with a 3 TD lead

Against 29-30 teams, for sure. Against the Rams? I’m not shocked. Most of his runs weren’t very opportunistic, and he was able to break a few when the holes opened up.

But either way.. Mitchell is a good back. Averaging 14pts in PPR over the last 4 games.

Im happier to have him off the wire than drafting some backs that were ranked much higher pre-season.

ETA:
This is a fun thread. But in seriousness.. this started off with a conversation around his FAAB fair value. He wasn’t worth 100% of an owners FAAB. But $50 or so early in the season wasn’t an extreme overpay.

Will be interesting to see if he finishes around RB20. Currently RB30 in full PPR after on the year missing two games. RB8 over the last four games and RB23 since week 5 (injury return).

Rams run D haa faced some bad RBs and teams have thrown 60% of that time vs them. They’re actually kinda soft but I digress

I don’t think he’s bad but imagine dumping the budget and missing out on other guys for this

RB37
Injured
Injured
RB37
RB12
RB8
RB19
RB28

In most seasons we would have said “imagine getting a healthy 49er RB who gets a significant majority of carries, and we know he’s the guy every week”. You would think that guy would be a huge producer - injuries, share of workload, and predicting the workload have always been the issues with this running game, not the results. 49er running game has always been a big producer

Elijah has been clearly THE GUY from week 2 onwards, has only missed 2/7 games, and he’s getting a majority of carries. But the results have been lackluster. It’s a head scratcher. And we know Shanahan has been happy with the results, Elijah would have lost some workload or been benched completely if Shanahan was unhappy
