$17 in our leave. I thought about trying to nab him with $20 but I already have 3 good backs so I decided not to. I have other positions of need when break outs emerge

Same… Feel like he is getting undervalued with the Eli Mitchell hype. Gainwell is a versatile running back on a team with a top 10 offensive line. Sanders has battled fumbles, drops, and injuries. A lot could happen throughout the season and gainwell offers flex appeal right now with greater upside if Sanders gets hurt or benched

I can't remember people ever being this crazy about a waiver wire pickup in Week 1. 100% of FAAB for any player is nuts.

Need some other analysis besides, “Shanahan is tricking us.” Eli is the best back on the team.

Until he’s not. Sounds like a lot of hope mixed with uncertainty

Based on him doing what 4-5 other guys have done in that offense over the past few years.

So that makes him the best back on the team?

We can draw opinions from one game

Or go back to 2017 to see if there is a trend to RB usage

17
Hyde/Breida

18
Breida/Alf/Wilson

19
Coleman/Mostert/Breida

20
Wilson/Mostert/McKinnon & Hasty/Coleman

Independent of injury, Shannahan has shuffled the deck numerous times. This isn’t about the skillset of the players, more so the ability to predict consistent points on a week to week basis. Big weeks mean less when it comes at the cost of unpredictability. Until we get clarity on Sermon and the like, we don’t really know what to expect

I think we both agree with each other on this one and maybe you weren’t responding to me on one of those posts lol.

Yea I drafted sermon as a stash and I don’t need to play him right now so I can wait and see.

My luck, I’ll trade him high after a great game and then he consistently plays after that.

If you would’ve asked me in May, I would’ve said the same. If you would’ve asked me in March, I would’ve said he deserved to go day 2. Sermon is a good football player but doesn’t have nearly the explosiveness that Mitchell has. He is one of the most athletic backs in all of the NFL. It sounds like other people are only talking him down to prop Sermon up. Sermon will play. The fact that people think Hasty or Wilson are that caliber is absolutely ridiculous though. If only two guys get the ball in this run-centric offense, Mitchell was worth the FAAB. If Mitchell steals the show, he was worth even more than that, and you likely won your league.

By people you mean the coach who routinely keeps 3 or 4 RBs to randomly rotate around

Jeff Wilson was RB7 when he got his shot the last four weeks in 2020 and was then handed a $2 mil guaranteed extension for ‘21. Don’t sleep on Shanny’s love affair with these guys

$7 here but everyone was cautious of the san fran backfield. Any other team (except patriots), then it would have been lots more.

Picked up Wilson this week and he's chilling in the IR slot.

19 touches back to back weeks. Sermon only got action when Mitchell’s shoulder was getting looked at.
