How big a deal should I make of this?

Live draft 12 team league. In the live draft we voted to use FAAB this year. Between the draft and week 1 i made a few innocuous moves not thinking anything of it. Went to place a waiver claim today and no FAAB option. Come to find out yahoo, for whatever reason, wouldn't let the settings be changed from regular waiver to faab. This is the first i'm hearing of this and my waiver priority is now 12th. it would have been 3rd had i not made any pre-week 1 moves.

I’m looking now and it won’t let me switch from FAAB to regular waivers

I’m not doubting that, I just would have liked to know before I sacrificed my 3rd position in wavier priority

Let me get this straight; you thought you were using FAAB but you went ahead and added players via waivers already, even though you didn't see a spot to put a bid in?

I just added players, I guess I assumed they were free agents. I didn’t put that much thought into it because we had voted for faab.
Had it been pointed out that faab wasn’t happening, I wouldn’t have made them/asked them to be reversed before the first game

if you added players through waivers, i dont think you have a case. If the order wasn't reflective of the draft order, then you have a case.

Yahoo designates between guys who are free agents and on the waiver wire when you view them under "players". I say it's on you for not reading before making the add. Sorry baw.

Don't make a big deal. Slight oversight on your part plus y'all forgetting to change league settings in time. Wasn't a concerted effort to trick you. Let it slide.

I'd be pissed about it, but there's not too much you can do about it now. If you had noticed it before waivers had gone through, you could have complained and gotten things adjusted, saying you thought you were going to FAAB and that's not the case. Now that waivers have gone through, it will be too hard to adjust everything.
Sucks, man, but I don't see how it can be fixed at this point.

Did you have the opportunity to ‘bid’ on these innocuous acquisitions? If NOT, then that should have been a red flag that something was wrong from the start

Hard to say without seeing your roster, but from experience most people over react in week 1 and there is value to be found on the people they drop for the streamers. You will be fine.
