I was in Omaha for the first two games in 1996 (I think Wichita St and UF), then the entire World Series in 1997.
Haven't been to new Rosenblatt.
But the Rice-LSU game in 1997 was an unreal game.
LSU won 5-4.
Larson smashed a 2-run homer to tie it in the 8th.
The LSU RF (Wes Davis?) robbed Berkman of a HR.

went to Omaha in 09, it was one of the best sports trips ive taken.
Posted on 2/14/15 at 11:04 am to MrWiseGuy
USM played UT, who was the 1 seed, in the first round. Took them to the wire but USM ended up walking or hitting 7 of the last 11 hitters to lose the game
It was rowdy in the new rosenblatt that night

I remember that game.
Was Corky still the coach then?
shite. Didn't USM sweep UF on the road in the Supers to reach Omaha? That UF team was crazy talented.

The fantasy experts held their annual LABR draft Tuesday.
They use standard scoring (wins and batting average). 15-team mixed league.
Some selections that stood out compared to this draft, with the understanding we're obviously a dynasty.
Adam Jones went 9th overall in LABR -- average league helps him. He was picked in mid-2 in ours
Marte went ahead of Puig in the second round. Marte is 26, Puig 24. Puig went first round, Marte went with last pick in 3rd in our draft.
Brian Dozier was seventh 2B eligible taken in LABR, he was fourth in our draft.
Brett Gardner was picked 78 overall in LABR. I can't find exactly when he was taken but it was LATE

I took Gardner in the 9th.

I was thinking Gardner went later than that in our draft.

It's letting me in too.
Anyone ever do a random money league on Fantrax? I just got the email the other day that sign ups for them are now available. I'm considering jumping in one of the gold or platinum 12 team roto leagues.

Cardinals starting pitcher Michael Wacha threw a bullpen session Tuesday, with pitching coach Derek Lilliquist, manager Mike Matheny and general manager John Mozeliak all watching, per MLB.com.
"I don't have any of that feeling in the shoulder area," Wacha said. "I'm real happy with everything, the way everything is coming out, the way the arm feels throughout the whole 'pen. Hopefully I'll just keep building off of each bullpen, getting a little more command of each pitch each time out.

"It's a pretty rare injury, and a lot of people don't know how it happened or how to fix it rehab wise. I'm continuing to get stronger, and hopefully I'm building the muscles around the injury to where it doesn't happen again."
