Interesting. I can understand not targeting WHIP, because a good WHIP can sometimes result in mediocre K rates. Someone that has a high OBP almost never hurts you in another category.

Fun fact: Using ESPN projections, Joey Votto is ranked 62nd among hitters in standard leagues. In this format, he's 17th.

Just curious, as I never played K/9 prior to TD fantasy leagues, what's the main reason why so many are opposed to K's or even K/BB as opposed to K/9?

If you chase Ks, ones ratio stats are likely to suffer. Do people find K/BB redundant because of WHIP?

I think K/9 in particular punishes some really good pitchers over the years like the Tim Hudson Jeff Zimmerman types.

To prevent streaming, really. When the evil committee discussed it, we were in unanimous agreement that ratios are the way to go when possible, hence k/9 over Ks and SLG over total bases.

Yes, exactly.

Good news! Those dudes are INNINGS EATERS! They have their own category to own now!

Just always preferred counting stats... guess I'm just really old school. Streamers hurt themselves with ratios and managed with weekly pickup restrictions. We just all have our own personal preferences.

I totally agree, but if said streamer has already lost the ratio cats, going on a free for all on the FA pool can help him bullshite his way to wins in the counting stats.

FML. I just went through and looked to verify formulas, and I made an error in the steals cat on ESPN projections.

Ill check now to see if it changes anything.

Even with k:9 it rewards "counting" to an extent. Just not unfiltered stacking of strikeouts. If that makes sense.

I know when we originally introduced there were a few people confused on how it was compiled per day.

Like a reliever who K's 3 in 1IP has a 27.00 k:9. But In reality the totals are just added to the rest of the team's stat totals. So it's not as weighted as it seems in the end

K/9 rewards quality while k's reward quantity. I would never go back to k's in any of my leagues.

It's not confusing at all. Just wondered why the masses gravitated towards it more as opposed to the traditional cats. With all the different metrics used these days, I guess it was only inevitable that fantasy baseball evolved as well.

Not a ton of change. A few positions that were close before flipped after the correction.

Can you do the same for Carlos Gomez?

Nothing to do with Rondo and LE's dislike, I'm just curious myself because of Net SBs and OBP

Gomez is 5th in standard leagues and 6th in this league. No big difference.
