You have to allow trading of injured guys for competitive purposes, but you do bring up a good point.

Shitty team are still gonna have to trade away an asset, they so its not like they can go crazy. They still could trade away guys for minor leaguers and deplete their roster.

If they do this, they are dumb. Let them.

Actually, if he were allowed to put them on the DL, he could make his team MORE competitive because he could pick up someone from the wire.

I disagree, since the way the current rules are set promotes this more than what my proposal would. Think about it. As it stands now, a team can trade for ten injured players if he wanted to and put them in his lineup, accumulating no stats. Under my proposal, he can put them on IR and add players that will at least accumulate SOME stats. I think you are overthinking this.

They can only have ten minor leaguers on their team with zero major league experience. That's why that cap was put in place. No minor leaguers without MLB experience can be on an active/reserve slot.

I understand. I'm saying they could trade for better ones. I'm just saying if a team wants to be shitty, they can. Aside from making it mandatory they have active players in their linup there isn't much we can do.

I'm fine with that, to be honest. It's good to have solid discussions during the offseason. It's hard for most people to fap to their roster for two months straight. I mean, I can do it, but for most people its probably difficult.

You could give me a jar of petroleum jelly, two rubber bands, and yardstick and i still couldn't fap to that. You basically gave up a premier prospect in Torres and an electric arm in Zack Wheeler in exchange for someone with a low OBP and inconsistent power that plays for a weak team.

I guess it all depends on perception. You may see half empty. I see half full. Do you trade for a player's last season or what you project them to be? I think he'll be a 20+ homer outfielder who is still pretty young with room for growth.

That's what Im saying

Look at the FA pool during the season. One could still pull off a thinly veiled attempt at a tank

Yes! shouldnt this be A1 issue to address

I dont think. We see it in every keeper league on this board

Under this proposal you would be able to stockpile injured guys while throwing out a below replacement fantasy roster that is going to lose in the same way a roster with 10 injured or MiLB guys would.

Here's my main thing - a team is somewhat competitive in the begininning of the season. As the year goes on and they start losing, they start swing their guys for contenders' injured guys. Then they start trotting out these half assed lineups down the stretch while teams are trying to make the playoffs. Those 10-0, 9-1, 8-2 games at the end of the year swing races.

I will just wait to vote on the DL thing, it's not that big of a deal as the lineup thing

So anyone want to sum up what we are actually going to be voting on, if anything?

Because those leagues dont have parameters in place to not allow minor leaguers on an active roster. That is causing more of a probelm than injured players. We eliminated that minor leaguer stockpiling possibility when this league was created.

Yes, but what about guys who have service time but are back in the minors? Should they be allowed to be in an active roster, along with someone who is injured?

Just seems pretty clear to me that should not be allowed?
