I think Gyno was concerned that the slow draft would go much longer than it did. If we do this league again, I think we would all be agreeable to starting the draft later.

trade of the day

Dmac/Olsen

for

Gates/Donald Brown/Royster

Team A RBs Dmac/Ingram/Blount/Spiller

Team B RBs Goodson/Bradshaw/Ksmith/Ware

Each Team will only start 2 RBs

The Question: will the points Gates scores over Olsen be greater than the differece between

Dmac+Ingram/spiller/blount rotation

and

a Royster/DBrown +ingram/spiller/blount rotation

I hypothesize that Royster/brown will score approx the same as Damc+ingram, and that Gates over Olsen slam dunk for Team A

For Team B, I hypothesize that a Dmac/Bradshaw/Ksmith (plus eachs back-up) adds security and the ability to start a Flex RB....and that Dmac will score more than Gates, and K smith in flex will score more than Olsen.

win/win

Not a bad offer. Hard to pull the trigger if I am owner A though and leave an absolutely shite fest as my starting RBs.

and one Dmac injury from benig even worse....not that that is a high probability...it's just every year. Take projected and Multiply by 66%..as in he misses 33% of his games.

But having his back-up alleviates some of that risk.

Yea, it really boils down how many games owner A thinks DMC will play

you and lester keep saying I have alot to learn about this league

could you help me out and explain TE points perception?

It seems that yall will look at two RBs one will score 250pts and the other 200 pts....and scoff or otherwise be completely flabbergasted that the two are even in the same conversation.

but then there's a TE who will score say 220 pts and a TE that will score 120pts...and yall don't have the same reaction...even though the point differential is 100% greater.

EX: Olsens BEST YEAR..2009 60 catches 612 yards and 8tds

Gates worst year excluding his rookie year of 24 catches

2008 60 catches 704 yards and 8 Tds.....and that's with him having 10 game and 13 game seasons.

why does it seem to me that yall discount the points that TEs make, and over-exaggerate the points that a RBs production mean?

In this case, it is more the fact that DMC has the potential to score 300 points if he can play in 14 games. Also the fact that Donald Brown hasn't shown anything in his career other than not winning a starting role in 4 seasons.

Maybe I should be making a move to get DMac.

fine, then I'll use actual numbers from last year, not projections

rb/te: #1 RB Ray Rice 370 pts + TE 5-8 Finley/VDavis/Pettigrew ~180

te/rb: Gronk 330+ R.Bush(not full workload)/MBush(split-time)/Forte(injury)/J.Stewart(split)/FredJackson(injury)/Tolbert

but would anyone take Tolbert and Gronk for Ray Rice and Finley?

NO WAY DAT CRAZY.....

Last season, only Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford and Drew Brees attempted more passes to tight ends than Cam Newton.

So what if Greg Olsen (89 targets, 45 receptions, 540 yards, five TDs) inherits the bulk of targets from Jeremy Shockey (62 targets, 37 receptions, 455 yards, four scores last season)?

Olsen will be well over 120pts if healthy.

dude, i have 3 TE's on my roster. I don't know what you are talking about "discounting" TE points.

Gronk and tolbert both had career years that they are unlikely to repeat. So yea it is pretty far fetched.

Oh I forgot...THIS is the year that Olsen blows up...those other 4 years where he was touted to be the next big thing were false alarms.....this year "ITZ FO SHO!!!"....fool me once, fool me 4 times

And last year wasn't a career high for Ray Rice?

he was 50 higher than #2McCoy...if I put McCoy into that little example...then we are talking about

McCoy + Finley = Gronk+ Pierre Thomas, beane wells, or Shon Greene

If I go to #3 RB MJD...we are talking Gronk and Dexter McCluster

Ray Rice's TDs were up. Because they committed to giving him the goal line carries.

That was it in terms of career year. He's had seasons like the one he had last year before in terms of total yardage and catches. His 09' season was almost identical.

Gronk doubled his catches and yardage from year 1, and in the process set records for a TE in yards and TDs. So yea, chances are he doesnt have another season like that, especially since they've added a guy like Lloyd that will take some catches away

Yet you are trying to trade for him? Who are you trying to fool here?

you think I want to start him over Ksmith in the flex or Gronk at the TE spot?
