My team:

QB Cam, Dalton
RB Rice, SJax, LeShoure, D Brown
WR VJax, T Smith, S Smith, J Gordon, B Hartline
TE Gronk
K Bryant, Tucker
DEF Chicago

I get RG3, Witten
I give Cam, Gronk

Hesitant because Gronk will probably dominate with Hernandez out, but Cam is going to lay an egg against Chicago.

Improvement over the long term?

I would try to find a #2 WR for Cam and play Dalton.

You have a solid backup in dalton that will be past his bye. Do it

Holy frick, how are people saying you should make this trade?

I would absolutely not make this trade. Witten? Am I in the twilight zone?

Forget Witten. You're giving up a top 15 scoring QB and the highest scoring TE for a rookie and a TE who is best known for his blocking? W.T.F.

If I'm you, I'd want RGIII and a solid #2 WR for Cam and Gronk. JMO

Carolina is a hot mess. Add the numbers up and see if you would have done better the last few weeks with Dalton and Gronk, or RG3 and Witten.

I'd take that.

How many people said the same thing about Cam Newton at this time last year?

quote:

and the highest scoring TE

This is true, and Gronk will again be the highest scoring TE this season.

quote:

and a TE who is best known for his blocking

This is hardly accurate.

So suddenly Cam is far inferior to RGIII? 6 games in?

FWIW, outside of 1 bad game vs Seattle, Cam is still averaging 20 fp/wk.

And I may have exaggerated a bit regarding Witten, but this trade is absolutely 1 sided IMO.

In my league, he's only had 2 games where he scored over 20.

No, but Carolina is probably inferior to Washington. My point is, he was blowing up from week 1 last season, and everyone kept dogging him because he was a rookie, and saying he'd be sure to fail eventually.
