Unsurprising usage for Aaron Jones as Packers mixed in four RBs.

* 55% of the snaps
* 57% of the RB carries
* 46% of the RB targets

quote:

Highest target share in Week 1:

DeAndre Hopkins - 46%
Davante Adams - 42%
Jamison Crowder - 39%
Julian Edelman - 38%
Amari Cooper - 36%

quote:

Malcolm Brown had his season-high in carries, rushing yards, and rushing TD’s in Week 1 last year, with 11/53/2

He didn’t clear 11 carries, 40 rush yards, or 1 TD in any game after that.

Is this history repeating itself or the start of something new?

quote:

BUF RB usage:

* Devin Singletary 51-of-87 snaps, 7 targets, 0 rushes inside 5-yard line
* Zack Moss 39 snaps, 4 targets, 3 rushes inside 5-yard line

quote:

ATL RB snaps in Todd Gurley's first game:

* Gurley 36-of-79
* Brian Hill 21
* Judge Ito Smith 20

quote:

SEA RB usage:

* Chris Carson 28 snaps, 6 carries, 6 targets
* Carlos Hyde 21 snaps, 7 carries, 0 targets
* Travis Homer 13 snaps, 3 carries, 2 targets
* DeeJay Dallas healthy scratch

Josh Jacobs averaged 2.1 targets per game last year and played on 54.8% of the snaps.

Tiny sample, but yesterday Jacobs saw 6 targets and played on 77.7% of the snaps.

IND WR snaps:

* TY Hilton 59-of-73
* Parris Campbell 61 (58 in slot)
* Zach Pascal 46
* Michael Pittman 39

Antonio Gibson Week 1:

* 18-of-70 snaps
* 31% of RB carries
* 2 snaps in slot, 1 out wide
* 2 targets for a 6.5% share
* Stuffed at goal-line once
* Role will grow, but was not a good Week 1 play regardless of results

quote:

Dallas Goedert 54-of-68 snaps yesterday. 18 of them slot or wide. Now has at least 8 targets in four straight games going back to last season.

As an Aaron Jones and Chris Carson owner, their usage in week 1 was concerning. Each had solid fantasy outputs b/c of TDs (two in Carson's case). It's clear neither will be a bellcow type runningback this year.

Wonder what the Taylor/Hines workload will look like. Big week 1 for Hines. I would think Taylor gets the early down work with Hines used more in the passing game. But Taylor went 6 for 67 receiving which was surprising.

Both Hines and Taylor should be valuable, assuming they don’t work Wilkins into Mack’s role. That’s a big assumption

I do agree, but I didn’t expect four different Packers RB’s to have at least 2 carries. 16 rushes and 4 catches is 20 touches though for Jones, which should be enough to keep him in borderline RB1 territory in PPR leagues.

not really, Wilkins isn't any good and Taylor is really good.

it made sense to somewhat limit Taylor when you have a guy like Mack to help ease him. You don't force feed Wilkins just because

They had Wilkins in there last year and he was solid. I hope they don’t use him, but they might

Saints star WR Michael Thomas suffered a high-ankle injury in Sunday’s win over the #Bucs, but it’s something he believes he can play through, sources tell me and @RapSheet. With an extra day before next Monday’s game vs. #Raiders, nobody ruling Thomas out.
