i think you should be able to add a player from your old roster but it would have to be a RP ETA: and i know that wont be popular. But id say it for anyone except maybe rick ETA2: only if he is officially diagnosed out for the year between now and the draft

I would like to add a provision where if your 3rd rated SP is hurt between keepers/draft that you are able to replace him if his diagnosis begins with letters F, T, Z and C-R. Additionaly, he would have to be out a prime number of games.

FWIW, I would vote no for proposed TBM exception #99.

I woulda kept abreu over lidge. If you recall, I was torn on which three to keep out of Nathan, Scott, lidge, abreu. I most certainly would have went with Abreu (the fact that he sucked anyway is irrelevant).

And nutty may have been poor wording. It's outside the box thinking, which I like. I just don't agree with it in this case.

There is a keeper deadline for a reason. And while the main reason is to give people time to analyze the potential picks, injuries are part of the game. Worst case scenario is he is out for the year, and you can stash him on IR after the draft.

Id like to hear some other points of view as well. If there seems to be enough support to warrant a vote (it would take 75%), then I will most certainly create a poll for it.

I vote no. It sounds like some kind of democratic legislation with narrowly defined requirements for the benefit of only poor people.

What if it were your team? I hope you aren't saying no just because of your rivalry with tbm.

Me, personally, I dont see what it would hurt. Of course it would have to be a dire situation, ie a player announced out for the year.

it's almost like we push the draft back as late as possible with the hope that if someone gets injured, it happens before the draft and not once we set our keepers.

Then we set keepers due a full week in advance for whatever reason.

That's leaves a pretty big window for a player to get hurt.

Just seems like people would be receptive to something like this given that is how we go about planning a draft. Big thing with doing it so late is potential injuries.

There would definitely have to be some guidelines set. Very strict ones.

One the other end, what are some good reasons to say no? Who or what does it hurt/affect?

to say it is "part of the game".....meh..this is fantasy. Not that cactus league

I understand, and I certainly didn't expect anyone to see it my way. Im not going to argue it anymore.

Guess 11 keepers will be a good excuse to have a shitty team.

You mean, you hope I wouldn't be self-serving like TBM? Amazing double standards.

Anyway, my no has nothing to do with 'rivalry.' I don't have any issues with Gyno. It's real simple. We have a keeper date. After that date there is no swapping. Not in the current rule set at least. If you guys want to pass a retroactive rule, then I would probably not be happy, but 3/4's controls. It's really that simple. We can't go making retroactive rulings. Can I go back and get Albert Pujols back from Nobes from like 4 years ago when I traded him for 2 cups of piss and a shite sandwich? It's not the same thing you say? Yeah, it pretty much is. Retroactively fricking with rosters.

Well I only had 9 keepers last year...

And I understand LE's viewpoint. And if done, yes, it would need to be strict rules. But specifically, how strict? What if a guy is said to be out until "at least September?" That's the end of the tdbl season, so does that qualify? It's opening up pandoras box, and Id personally rather not do that unless there is strong support for it, and the guidelines were drawn out and foolproof. Unfortunately, I can't really think about all the possibilities tonight being a solo parent for the evening. Maybe when the kids go to bed.

Don't worry about it. Just leave it as is. The odds of it happening within that week long window are slim anyway.

Please stop talking about it.

I have ideas, but there is no sense in talking about it. No one is going to want to be self servant and go for a new rule like that.

Strong persuasion by TBM shows a weak mind.

A deadline is a deadline. Yea its fantasy, but for all intensive purposes, teams are set and you no longer have the players that you didn't keep. Plus its a slippery slope for anyone else who has injured players.

The worst thing he could've done was voice his opinion

To be clear, my initial responses to this discussion were done as an owner. My more recent ones have been done as the commish lookin out for the best interests of the league.

we should at least look into making the keeper deadline like 1-2 days before the draft. That would alleviate any problems with injuries.
