12 man league. Assuming Jonathan Taylor goes #1 who you takin ? I’m leaning hard on ekeler. I don’t trust cmc with the injuries. Any feedback or insight appreciated.

CMC

When healthy, he's the most dangerous fanatasy option in the game. In the games he played last season, he was still the top point per game producer. I've even heard some of rhe fantasy pros debate whether or not to take him at the 1.01.

Ekeler will have some TD regression. He's still a solid PPR back and in my opinion is right behind CMC and Taylor, just don't expect another 20 TD season from him.

That’s where I have a ton of pause. Cmc has won the league for me before but I’m having a hard time with taking him at 2. It’s all a gamble on the injuries I guess.

Appreciate the reply.

I can’t believe people keep going back to the well on the CMC. Two straight drafts he’s been the consensus #1 and two straight seasons he’s gotten hurt and ruined his fantasy owners’ season. Fool me once, fool me twice, but fool me three times?? I’ll sit that one out

Glad I’m not alone here. Not to mention his handcuffs SUCK.

But if no Taylor and no CMC… then who ?

I keep circling back to ekeler. Ppr machine on a good team with an ascending QB. Idk. I’ve seen mocks all over the place but most agree with cmc at 2. I’m stumped.

Yeah I agree. #2 is a tough spot if JT is off the board. I’d consider WR with Justin Jefferson or Kupp. But if you want to go RB maybe take CMC and trade him before his inevitable injury. I don’t know what other RB has good #2 value this year, maybe Dalvin Cook but he has his own litany of injuries too, his handcuff in Mattison is a lot more reliable though

I don’t understand how Saquon can fall out of the top 10 while people take CMC at 1.01 or 1.02. They have pretty much taken the same trajectory in having a dominant season and then just straight injury plagued. The only difference is people say well McCaffery gets 10 targets a game while healthy, he’s a PPR machine. I don’t care about that when I know the man is going to get injured and be on my IR slot when the playoffs roll around

Because Barkley sucked last year even when he was healthy mostly because the giants o line sucks. CMC is a game changer when he’s healthy and he’s never had the same injury twice and looks like he’s back to 100%. It’s still a big gamble, but it’s warranted

So you like cmc over ekeler if you’re picking at 2?

No, as far as RBs go I’d go

JT
Ekeler
Henry
Najee
CMC

Maybe flip Najee and CMC. I’ve been high on Najee this year but see a lot of others fading him so it has me 2nd guessing.

Haven’t figured out where I personally would put kupp and Jefferson in that mix. They’re ballers for sure but the few mock drafts I’ve done (6th pick) I haven’t really cared for my team after going wr first round. That could change though

Najee, King Henry, or Ekeler depending on the format.

I'm also the 6th pick in a keeper league. I am really hoping on of the 5 people in front of me make a dumb decision and leave either Chase or Adams on the board.

I pick 6th as well. Do you really think Chase and Adams are top five picks? I’ve done several mocks and both are mid to late 1st round

Personally, I think Saquon is 100% healthy as well and the Giants have been touting that he will be utilized more as a WR this year, and they have been addressing the Oline in recent drafts. 100% healthy Saquon is better than 100% healthy CMC and you can get Saquon for crazy value late 2nd this year. Saquon at his peak is Rb1 in the league

Editing to mention the Giants went OT Andrew Thomas 4th overall in 2020 and OT Evan Neal 7th overall in 2022. Their Oline has to improve with pedigree like that.

You're either going to be smart that you drafted CMC or smart that you did not. There is no middle ground (for the most part). Just impossible to know which route is the correct route, in August...

Adams, No. And Chase No for the most part, but it depends on who you are drafting with (LSU fans) and individual league scoring rules.

WRs typically go Cupp/JJ/Chase/Adams or Diggs are 4th taken

Absolutely not. Saquon had 1 great year his rookie year with 1300 yards 15 tds. He was average the next year missing 3 games and finishing with 1000 yards 6 tds. Missed almost all his 3rd year and was trash in 13 games last year finishing with 600 yards 4 tds

CMC had 1000 all purpose yards his rookie year in limited work. 1000 yards rushing and 800 receiving year 2 with 13 tds. Then year 3 has an absolutely ridiculous 1400 yards rushing 1000 yards receiving 19 tds. Then has the 2 injury years which in the games he was able to play he crushed

I think people hold out hope for Saquon because he won a lot of people their leagues his rookie year and there’s always pics of him in training camp of him looking like a Greek god. Do I think he has tremendous value as an rb2? Absolutely. And I’d happily take him as my rb 2 and hope for 1000 yards 8 tds. But picking between either one at their best it’s a no contest

I took a chance on Barkley in the first round last year and in a 14 team league it was a league losing pick so yeah I’m still a little salty over him but still speak facts

Kupp #2 overall is not crazy if you have worries about the RBs.

I really appreciate the replies and discussion. This is a pretty big buy in league and the one I wanna win the most so I wanna get this right. I’m sure I’ll overthink the shite out of it and end up taking ekeler. There are two guys in this league that could potentially frick up the #1 pick and one of them has the pick so I’m keeping my fingers crossed he passes on Taylor. Id jizz to get him @2.
