The machine I just voted on in Arkansas was all digital. had a touch screen and you had to use a stylus to select. Then it printed your ballot and sent you to another machine to cast your vote. I'm sure the second one is connected to the internet.

Not this time. It's actually hurting the Democrats. Urbana is a huge liberal bastion and if they can't vote in force, the Dems may lose the House seat here that is probably 55% Dem/ 45% Rep.
So this isn’t frickery; merely the typical Democrat propensity for being able to frick up a cup of coffee.

In 2020 Champaign Co had 96K voters, +21.8K Dems
Sangamon Co 105K voters, +4.6K Reps
So could hurt D more than R, unless the problems in Sangoman are greater than Champaign.
As far as EV, IL is deep Blue (sadly), even though ~ 90% of counties are RED.

I'm not saying they aren't lying, but I'm pretty sure none of the tabulation machines are supposed to be connected to the internet. Whether or not that's actually the case is up for debate I suppose.

Before 2020 the corporate media showed how easy it was to hack machines

quote:Long, long time ago I worked for a contract company the hospital departments in Champaign (Cole Hospital, maybe?). But we had several other hospitals in the more rural parts west of Champaign. Quincy maybe and one the started with a P - Pulaski maybe. I was there for the major ice storm of 1978 that folks were without power for months. Good times!
I live about 20 minutes west of Champaign in the countryside.

Not sure if this is the case here but it would make sense for them to be connected to each other over a local network.
Why would that make sense to you? I'm not trying to give you a hard time I just want to know what possible reason there may be. My understanding is that each machine tabulates the votes independently. We heard post 2020 that machines are not connected to a network during the election. That the capability is only enabled when they need maintenance or service repair.

The Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons confirmed to WCIA this morning that there are network issues that are preventing people from voting.
Are these wifi network issues for people doing last minute research on local candidates as they wait outside the room with the machines, or is this a wired network that a machine is illegally connected to?
Big difference. You can't use your phone in the voting area but you can in the line as you wait to enter. The machine should have zero wifi or wired network.
I avoided it all and voted by paper when given the option
