NC Gov Race Called for Josh Stein (D) ... but fear not

The dems ran a good candidate; the GOP ran a terrible candidate. This is no indication of the presidential election.

They both sucked hard. Robinson has too many bad sound bites that killed him. Jeff Landry is a huge upgrade to both.

I agree and wouldn't have voted for Stein, but he appealed to the white-collar yuppie hippy crowd and was liberal enough to appeal to others in the dem coalition. So he was a good candidate for what the dems were trying to do.

Not quite true.
It doesn't mean Trump will lose, but there are likely voters who were drawn out to vote against a bad candidate in Robinson who'll also vote for Harris.
They might not have voted at all if Robinson weren't there.
Kind of the opposite of a "coattails" effect.

I would be inclined to agree with you if we weren't talking about Trump. Over and over again he defies political gravity bc most people already love or hate him. Whoever hated Robinson enough to come out and vote against him was already coming out to vote against Trump anyhow.
Will be interesting to see how it pans out.
