Trump will only win by 10 or so.

Not a good trend.

Latino turnout? Could be atypical.

He only won GA by 7, but I don't see the Dems winning here in 2020 either.

Trump isn't a Texas or southern candidate. A traditional republican would have won Texas by 20+, but the tradeoff was Trump dominated the Rust Belt.

Ted Cruz won the Texas primary. This is not at all shocking. Also, as said above, the Latinos will eventually be majority (although immigration policy could effect that).

Would not be surprised if the next governor of georgia is a Democrat though.

Texas is a Voter ID state.
They were legal citizens.
They won't be deported.

I've heard this about GA my entire life, but it always seems like an asymptote graph, always inching closer but never reaching zero.

A lot of the "blue" voters will be back in Mexico during the next election.

Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, McAllen area

It's not that surprising considering the huge influx of millenials in Austin (along with Denver) because of the growing tech industry there along with the growing industrials in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Meaning it's not a shift in ideology but a shift in populous/demographic. These votes are going to live somewhere and I think Texas is the perfect state to handle the influx without having the entire political landscape shift.

True enough. Our rural areas continue to shrink as our youth head for the urban areas (jobs, college, lifestyle, peers). I worry about us as the years unfold, so many coming our way, two edged sword

Maybe this is what the Native Americans thought when the pale face came calling... :-)

Nope. I have a ton of family in Texas. They are very conservative. Did not like the way he treated Cruz. Only 1 voted Trump. Everyone else voted Egg McMuffin or abstained
