I am concerned for the future of small-government conservatism, which is the reason I didn't trust Trump to begin with and still don't.

But if he follows through on at least trimming our regulatory state as he has said he would, that'd be reason to at least be a little happy. Obama's Clean Power Plan ought to be on the chopping block first

Pretty much my position also.

But ever since the convention, he was our lifeboat to avoid complete disaster. The fact that we let better lifeboats get destroyed in the wreck didn't alter the essential fact that he was the only way to survive.

I have changed my mind in another way also. During the primary I genuinely doubted that was for real - I thought he was an imposter, sometimes even thinking he was part of a bigger conspiracy to elect HRC. I was wrong about that also - I do believe he has the betterment of the nation at the core of his campaign and I wish him all the best.

IF he can curtail his innate temperament, and surround himself with a great cabinet and political advisors he has a chance to be a very good, possibly great, POTUS. Let us pray for that outcome.

Proud to have you on the train with us. This is just the beginning. Now we have to hold our representatives accountable for working with Trump to get the right things done. Don't forget they fought him, too.

Here's to real hope & change.

I underestimated how hard he would work and campaign for this, but goddamn, the man went nonstop, NONSTOP!!! I am so happy he's sending this administration packing and so very relieved.

YES!!!

The more his indefatigable campaign unfolded = and especially the past week = I became an admirer of his stamina and persistence. His message was always very simple and he hammered it home with a vengeance.

Agreed. CB said a lot of nasty stuff about Trump supporters that were said with a deep sincerity of hatred. I'll come around to him, just not today.

I agree. At first, I hoped he would get rid of his twitter account. On the other hand, I hope he can temper his emotions and use twitter as a very effective bully pulpit to bypass the corrupt media.

Maybe you should take a little bite of crow before you start questioning the new President elect.

i didnt think he could do it either. In the end he surprised the hell out of me, but the big thing is Hillary is not president.

no matter what people believe, its time to respect the office of the president and stand behind Trump.

the left needs to give him a shot and hear him out.

I don't think the left (nor the GOPe) will be interested in working to heal the nation. This is the same left that vowed to fundamentally change America. Obama carried the ball all the way to the goal line for them. I'm looking at chaos from them.

It will be incumbent upon we the people, to stand behind him when he is right and call him out if he is wrong.

This man will have knives being thrust at him from all angles.

It's all about the people, and they have spoken.

It's a great day for the Republic?

All of this.

Anyone that thinks the left is going to let up or isn't going to actively smear and undermine at every opportunity is naive. We know who they are. We know what they are.

What the establishment Republicans will do is really anyone's guess. It's time to move on common ground though.

I didn't think he had a chance but I was all aboard the Trump train after he got the nomination. I do wonder though if he would have won if Biden or another strong Democrat would have been the Democrat nominee. As many people that voted for Trump I can't help but think about 25 percent of it was Democrats and Independents that normally vote Democrat felt they could not trust Hillary and voted for Trump instead. I am stoked that Bitch didn't win.

I never thought it could happen. I would have bet my house that it would be a landslide the other way.

This should have nothing to do with deciding on whether to support a candidate when you only have two choices.

Voting for a different Republican in the primary is reasonable (in fact, I did.) But, the minute he won the nomination, there was only one right choice. Being afraid he would lose and letting that affect your own ability to get behind a candidate is pathetic...and worse, it is a recipe for losing. That's especially true when there is a very organized narrative being built.

What should stick with you is that you fell for the media narrative. You were told what to believe...and you did. I know you view yourself as smarter than that so this should be a bit of a jolt.

Having said that, I'm glad you are happy. I have hope for our country today. Nothing is guaranteed. But, perhaps today is the day that things start changing. Perhaps today is the day that people stop accepting things that are illogical as a foregone conclusion (impossibility of spending cuts, the impotence of tough choices due to political corrrectness, etc.)
