I never thought it could happen. I would have bet my house that it would be a landslide the other way.

During the primary nobody was more anti-Trump than me. But I was wrong. I was right about how the media would treat him after the nomination, but I was wrong about how the people would react to that media onslaught.

As I said many times after the convention - I am unreservedly happy that I was wrong. DELIRIOUSLY happy. Never been happier in my life to have been wrong. Seeing the end of the corrupt Clinton political empire is a cherry on top of this long life I have led.

I apologize for giving up on the essential goodness of the America people. I have renewed optimism for the America my great-grandsons will enjoy.

This is one of the happiest days of the latter part of my life. I eat my crow with eager hunger. I love being wrong like this.

Thank you Donald J. Trump = you, and your avid supporters, saw something to which I was completely blind,

Such a great day to be an AMERICAN.

This. It's a good day, but I thought there was a 0% chance this would happen. Hillary's machine, plus recent results and additions to the populace. I thought, without something major, that the way the left works we'd never see another Republican President again.

I thought it was getting close. I still never thought Trump would win though. Very happy to be wrong.

1) seeing LSU win 2 national championships
2) seeing the Saints win the Super Bowl
3) seeing Hillary get her clock cleaned

I was opposed to DJT in the primary and through much of the election cycle. At some point (I'm too lazy to check my post history) I decided that I was sick and tired about how the MSM was treating him - it was just unfair. I was considering voting for him, but was not sure.

Indeed, as I drove to the polls yesterday I was unsure. When I sat down to cast my vote, I wrote in my law partner for congress (the Dem in my district was unopposed) and then I voted on the questions. I knew how I was going to vote on each.

It wasn't until then that I asked myself if I was really going to write in John Kasich or fill in the circle for Trump. Since I knew Kasich had no chance and Trump's chance was only marginally better in Fairfax County, I voted for Trump because I did not want HRC.

This morning I thought back to the first election I remember - the 1960 election. My family strongly supported Nixon. I was 9 years old and no one knew who won when we went to bed. When I got up the following morning I asked my Dad if Nixon won. He told me that Kennedy won. I suppose I made a face because my Dad said that the election was over and we had to support our President.

56 years later, I extend President-Elect Trump my sincere best wishes for a successful presidency.

All of this.

Anyone that thinks the left is going to let up or isn't going to actively smear and undermine at every opportunity is naive. We know who they are. We know what they are.

What the establishment Republicans will do is really anyone's guess. It's time to move on common ground though.

I vowed yesterday that I wouldn't watch any news until 10pm. So I tuned into talk radio until 4pm then TD till 10. FOX Business, until 11, then FOX NEWS for cuckery. There they were, all crawfishing and analyzing. Not nary a one of the five or six NeverTrumpers, owning up. They were dismayed this had happened.

These are they, that must be watched. Gen, Flynn, called them out this morning on FOX and Friends on this very thing.

Man, that was awesome to read. I feel bad that I got very pissed at you and threw some bad vibes your way during the last year. I, for one, somehow and some way felt the pulse of the nation was ripe for what occurred. I tried to account for why my intuition was leading me that way and sometimes got upset when I couldn't make someone see and feel what my intuition was telling me. You are a good man and I understand better now why you were so concerned. You never thought he could win. I am so glad that you got to see the American silent majority awake at least one more time in your life and give you the happiness you deserve.

the minute he won the nomination, there was only one right choice. Being afraid he would lose and letting that affect your own ability to get behind a candidate is pathetic...and worse, it is a recipe for losing. That's especially true when there is a very organized narrative being built.

What should stick with you is that you fell for the media narrative. You were told what to believe...and you did. I know you view yourself as smarter than that so this should be a bit of a jolt.

Just to set the record straight - There was never a moment after the convention that I had any intention at all of not voting for Trump.

quote:

you fell for the media narrative

I have never fallen for the media narrative - I was warning everyone since July a year ago what the media would do to Trump. I have watched the media dissolve to its current state since DDEs tenure. I have not trusted the media to be honest since Reagan's first campaign.

Trump survived the media onslaught far better than I ever thought he could do. He had some rocky moments and I called him out for it - but I will always do that. I don't worship my political leaders - I hold them to the same standards of good behavior, honesty, and competence that I held my children to.

Trump is starting with a clean slate with me - I wish him the very best. I hope I will be excited to vote for him again in 2020.
