Nope. AotC is the worst. It isnt even close.

At least AOTC didn’t destroy a legacy character.

Well, other than the part where they turned Darth Vader into the biggest pussy in history.

I can't look at Vader the same way knowing he was the kid whining about how sand gets everywhere and rolling around in flowers. That crappy, sappy love story did a lot to hurt Darth Vader for me.

All the prequels did that to some extent with Vader's character. It took this legendary intimidating badass and put him in some of the weakest, whiniest situations a character can be in.

Yep, and AotC is the biggest offender.

My order: V, IV, Clone Wars '03, VI, I, R1, VII, III, II, VIII.

I wish Episode 1 was divorced from the Star Wars universe. It's a decent movie but being linked/compared to the SWU brings both the movie and the OT down.

Episode 2 sucked because it focused on everything it didn't really need to focus on.

Clone Wars '03 contains all of the plot and characters we needed in Episodes 2 and 3.

Episode 3 sucked for two reasons: 1. The movie builds that Grievous is ultra powerful, because you saw this in Clone Wars '03. If you missed CW'03, Grievous is a horrible cliche of a comic book villain, who has come out of nowhere to lead the bad guys, but isn't a threat to anyone in the least. 2. The movie drags on for what feels like forever.

Rogue One isn't complete garbage because they did the right thing and killed the characters after they went on their suicide mission.

Star Wars is a great movie. Empire is a near flawless sequel. Jedi is a good conclusion.

I liked VII on my first viewing, and liked it the second and third time I had seen it on Cable TV. After watching TLJ and seeing a few critique videos about VII, I believe I could probably change a few scenes and make this a better movie and save a few character perspectives.

VIII took me out of the film from Poe's first words and the whole movie reads like someone who reads the Political Talk Board too much and decided to write a Star Wars fanfic about it, right down to how their side is the good guys and the opposing party are the bad guys.

I'm certainly in the minority, but I didn't like Ewan as Obi-wan.

Alec Guiness' Obi-wan was wise/insightful, classy, measured/restraint in emotions, cool/calm in battle, honorable in defeat.

Ewan's Obi didn't have the same received pronunciation English accent, and seemed as bitchy, disgruntled, defiant & whiny as Anakin.

No way Ewan was a believable younger version of Alec Guiness. Hell, even a real younger version of Alec Guiness in Bridge over the River Kwai was more in-step with Guiness' classy Obi-Wan.

I'll give you Ewan was the most likable heroic character of the prequels, but he was just some other new Jedi to me, not a younger Obi-Wan.

There are certainly problems with it, but it doesn't have a Jar Jar-level problem like Phantom Menace

Finn waking up in the leaking suit is more offensive than anything Jar Jar did.

III is pretty darn good. Great open getting to Grievous' ship, Mace vs. Palpatine, Wooki Planet, Obi Wan vs. Anakin on a lava planet, and then the birth of Vader. It blows away the sequels and also Return of the Jedi.

Maybe shorten to just

It blows

Had more useless green screen than damn Avatar.

I don't know how anyone could care about any of the characters in III or any of the stupid shite they do - completely vapid and emotionless.

I've tried to like Ep. II and I just can't. I never liked the Hayden Christiansen casting and the dialogue is awful the entire movie. I'm not going to spend a lot of time reviewing that one.

I don't have near the problems with Phantom Menace that most have. Yeah, it has some issues, but I thought it brought a lot of good things to the table too. Maybe part of it was that I was still a kid when it came out so it appealed to me more being released when I would love anything Star Wars without complaint. But I loved Ewan and Liam...they made me love their characters. It was exciting to be introduced to a young Anakin Skywalker even if a lot of those scenes with midi-chlorians or w/e were cheesy. I enjoyed pod-racing. And then there was possibly my favorite lightsaber duel of the entire series for me. When Darth Maul's lightsaber had a 2nd blade, it just blew my little mind. And of course John Williams just crushed the score for that scene. Epic as it gets. I still to this day get pumped when that scene starts.

The prequels to me are garbage.

Rogue is the only thing made since the originals that I'd put near them. Haven't seen Return of the Jedi since I was around 13 in theaters but I'd probably put Rogue equal to or better than that.

Anakin needed to be older in episode I, that’s a given. Combine I & II into Episode I. Make ROTS Episode II and have Episode III be a Vader movie showing him hunting down Jedi and wrecking shite.

I agree with you about Episode II, however, the fight scene between Obi Wan and Jango Fett (in the rain) is one of my favorite scenes the prequels.

I went to bed Saturday night with "A New Hope" on TNT. When I woke up the next morning, Attack of the Clones was on. Jesus, what a difference. Ep. IV was Shakespeare compared to AotC.

Wait...so we can all agree now that TFA kinda sucked?

I’m glad the rest of y’all came around.

IMO Episode III is the only prequel (excluding RO and Solo--if you count them) that you can argue is better than TLJ.

The Phantom Menace may be one of the worst movies ever made. That was a soul-crushing disappointment. I've tried to go back and watch it, but I just can't. Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are not good movies, but they have some things going for them.
There's so much CGI in those movies they're sterile looking. At least The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi get the look right from the original trilogy.

Anakin turning to the dark side is not believable. He's a good guy one min, the next he's killing younglings. It was poorly handled.

That and the love affair felt so forced and fake. And awkward. It's my least favorite of the prequels.
