Anybody do this in the OB? I am talking wooden ones from the 1930's to 1940's. I personally like the Chub Creek Lures.

I don't but always thought it would be a neat hobby. Any pics from your collection?

I found these in an old shed and want to make a shadow box or some type of display with them.

When I started making my own lures I looked into getting some of the old wooden ones for references, but soon realized a lot of them were out of my budget.

You got some good Heddon lures in there I think. I can't upload mine but have some nice Creek Chub Pikies and Dingbats. They just look like awesome works of art....

I had a handful of wooden lures at one time. When I was younger and moved from one house to another I had a garage sale. Yes, they went cheap at the time. I made a mistake.

I used to. I've got a bunch that I have never unpacked after we moved. I used to keep'em at my camp on Claiborne, but I sold it and the wife doesn't like them displayed in our house or our new lake house.

I have been thinking about doing this for a long time, but they get pretty expensive. My dad has one old wooden bait that me and 3 of my bros are going to have to fight over when that time comes. He used to have another one that one of them probably ran off with. Who knows though, maybe it just got lost.

My father has 4 display cases full of old lures.
I never thought of them from value perspective; they look great.

Smithwick made them in Blanchard, I really like Carrot Tops, I have hundreds of lures from my grandfather, I need to go through them.

It all depends on color, how many of them were made, and condition. Also, if you have a box it makes them more valuable. I have not been doing it long but there are some lures worth a lot of money. I see guys all the time post a lure for sale and asking "Don't know what this is". Bet he is shocked when the bidding shoots up to $200 on day one. Hell, I saw a box, not even the lure, go for $1500

Looks like a couple of old Lucky 13's at the top left.

I have a couple of shadow boxes full. Maybe 2-3 dozen lures. The old wood ones are nice but I really lime the cast metal ones from even earlier.
