I plan on driving down tonight and waking up early to go surf fishing tomorrow. Will I get run off by rangers?

I would go to one of the crossovers on GI that has rocks. They have probably been heavily pressured but fish are there. I'd walk from pile to pile and I would be shocked if you didn't find a few.

yep, no overnight camping

but the fourchon public boat launch is nearby and you can park there overnight and no one will run you off

Any word on the state park? That was a nice little setup when the temps aren’t excessive.

Grand Isle State Park is still closed (RV housing being provided for displaced residents and/or workers?), and no announcements from state on its opening date. The rumors are that RV camping will not re-open until this fall. But the beach camping may not open till later depending on beach/dune damage? Anyone heard otherwise?

In this past this happened if you hung out with the Grand Isle politicians. Not sure if its changed much.

I heard the park may never reopen and the state may sell the property.

Same, I eventually moved down to the kayak launch and it was quiet, though I don't think you're supposed to. The pier is currently closed so there's probably very little traffic there now.
