As long as Woody gets to replace BK I’m fine, if BK builds a monster then retires I hope the players and Joe Dean don’t get the call on the successor.

That would be great as this was a terrible year to hire a coach. There was no name that would make this fan base happy.

Arnsparger did not replace a Muppet, that the rest of the country sees as a bad cartoon. The fact that nobody in the country wants a coach that won a natty 2 years ago is telling.

Brian Kelly knows that games are won in the trenches. His OL can block, and have good lateral movement. There will be no 10th year starter, watching the DE run around him all day long. The fact that skill players are more abundant at LSU is just lagniappe.

We are aboot to return to respectable.

Would be fine with that. I think we get five years minimum of him rebuilding the roster that is now in shambles.

Will be a much better looking job once Kelly has rebuilt it, then Saban is likely gone as well so the prospects will look much more attractive for anyone not wanting to dance with that devil every year.

Kelly is one of the only guys that wouldn’t shy away from that.

Arnsparger was an NFL coach who wasn’t used to having to convince high schoolers to come play for him.

He was sort of the opposite of Saban. Nick went to the Dolphins and found out that he didn’t have the ability to use his persuasiveness to get 5* players to join the team. He had to work with the weak hand he was dealt.

There is not one single coach that would make EVERYONE happy. Bitches are gonna be bitches.

People are shutting on BK’s age while forgetting he’s 10 years younger than Saban.

I'd take Arnsparger again. He came in, stopped the bleeding, did a wonderful job, and left the program in good shape. I rank him as the 2nd best head coach LSU ever had.

That's a bit of a stretch - he did a good job during his tenure, but there are several I would rank above him:

Biff Jones
Bernie Moore
Paul Dietzel
Charles McClendon
The Midget (I assume that's your #1)
Miles and Coach O (Arnsparger never won a championship).

I don't think Bill was all that hungry for a national championship. Kelly is.
